Notes in Black Cashmere

I'm trying this out today and would be interested if someone could provide me with a pyramid since there's not one here or at osmoz.
I get a lot of wood and incense as well as spice, but there's also something a bit stifling in there - musk maybe?

I found these notes at makeupalley: saffron, clove, rose, white pepper, Ethiopian incense, vanilla, amber, patchouli, African wenge wood, and cinnamon.

I was introduced to BC by TaoLady ( ) and then gifted with a bottle from Quinpus (). It is not a scent I would have sampled on my own based on those fiery notes, but bam-damn it is good.

I washed a flannel shirt I had applied BC to, and even after washing and drying it carried a scent. It really smelled like a black tea note to me.

If you like BC, check out Feminite du Bois. It's got a sunnier feel, but some of the same flavor.

Black Cashmere has a lot of labdanum, which is a love-it or hate-it note for most people. It's very thick and rich, some call it animalic, some call it smoky.

I can't provide a pyramid, but the notes (got them from NowSmellThis) are: saffron, masala spices, white pepper, clove, nutmeg, pimento berries, broom flower, patchouli, rose, incense, wengue wood, bois de miel and labdanum.

Whew!

p.s. - If you like this, try Chaos also by DK (discontined) if you can find it...

I'd say I mostly like it, but there's one thing in there that gives me a slight suffocation feel. I'm not sure what it is, which is why I'm keen to find out!
I wear Ambre Sultan which has some similarities - I love that. I also wear Miel de Bois. I don't know if it's the labdanum - isn't that also in Mitsouko (which I also wear)?

Black Cashmere is very heavy on the labdanum (which I love) and also on the wenge wood (which I don't). I suspect it is one of those notes you find kind of yuck. Wenge wood smells terrible on me, so I can't wear Black Cashmere (cry, sob). I made my own version without the wenge, as a solid, and I love that. So perhaps it's the wenge...I can't think of any other scent as heavy on the labdanum, though.... Also, some people can't wear broom well, it smells musty/sharpish instead of fresh, depending on skin chemistry. The only way you'll find out for sure is to purchase or sniff somehow the individual elements in EO or absolute form to figure out which is bothering you.

Well I've done some searching around and apparently it has white musk in it. Which would explain it as I have a pretty violent reaction to white musk - I feel suffocated by it.

Initially I thought it was a problem with all musks but it seems not as I can wear and enjoy some musky scents (Poison, Musc Ravageur etc) without any problem.

It's a pity as I love the spicy/woody/incense notes in this.

That's really interesting. Although I'm not happy for your limitations .
