Favourite flowers?

As I've been familiar with more and more scents I've also expanded my taste.I used to think that roses was pretty much the only flower that i enjoyed in a scent,but now i can actually add Lilac,Iris and Gardenia to the list.there are probably more though....Any thoughts?

I detest carnations in a flower arrangement but I love the scent of them.

Starglazer lilies, heady and rich.
Roses they should have a smell, many do not!
Lilacs
Heliotrope
Nightscented Stock
Carnations

The last two have a pepperiness to them which I really like.

Oh I love Bluebells but never notice a smell from them.

For someone who for years swore she was 'not a floral' person I have a great weakness for:

Roses - deep, rich, velvety
(Ava Luxe Rasa / Rasa Xtreme, Crabtree & Evelyn Evelyn Rose, Crown Perfumery Marechale, Yves Rocher Rose Ispahan, Montale Black Aoud)

Jasmine - sweet, sultry, indolic
(Nemat Sweet Jasmine, TBS Neroli Jasmine, Guerlain Samsara, Serge Lutens A La Nuit, Carolina Herrera by Carolina Herrera, Hermes 24 Faubourg, Guerlain AA Orange Magnifica)

Lilac / Buddleia - spring in a scent to me
(Valentino Very Valentino, Guerlain Champs-Elysees, Serge Lutens Un Lys, Frederic En Passant, TBS Spirit of Moonflower)

Oriental / Stargazer Lily - rather than Madonna lily, quite sultry & indolic
(Penhaligons Lily & Spice, D&G Feminine, Serge Lutens Un Lys, Cacharel Anais Anais, Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds)

Ylang-Ylang - this does wonderful things on my chemistry, very feminine

Carnation - a cool weather favourite, winter and spring.

Mimosa - a spring, warm weather scent for me.

Narcissus - a true soul scent for me, I find it almost addictive. The more I wear it the more I want to wear it. Sweet, feminine, narcotic.

Iris - quite 'fleshy' like Tuberose, but less cloying. Textured, earthy, clean.

Orange Blossom - ubiquitous in many blends but I adore this in summer when it is made a feature of a blend. It is just happy sunshine and summer fun in a floral essence.

Gardenia - I prefer this to Tuberose, and enjoy it most in warm spring weather or on sultry summer evenings. Very feminine without the powerhouse fleshiness of Tuberose.

Frangipani - another wonderfully feminine tropical bloom that does wonderful things on my skin.

Honeysuckle - another clean, spring time, warm weather favourite.
(Liz Claiborne Vivid, Bond No.9 Broadway Nite, Rochas Lumiere (current formulation), Carolina Herrera by Carolina Herrera)

Violets - these are an autumn favourite for me. Very classic, feminine, romantic. I have to be in the right mood for them though.
(Byblos by Byblos, Guerlain Les Meteorites, L'Aromarine Violette, Ava Luxe Midnight Violet, YSL Paris, Balmain Jolie Madame)

Freesia - like the Honeysuckle and the Mimosa this is a wamr weather favourite. I think it is very sharp and clean, almost soapy but during the summer heat it wears wonderfully.
(Cerruti 1881 pour Elle, Paul Smith Woman, Calvin Klein Eternity, Elizabeth Taylor Diamonds & Sapphires)

Night Scented Stock - I love this scent in reality / nature and it always evokes warm summer nights for me. I wish I could find a few more perfumes which feature this note...
(Spiritual Sky Night Scented Stock (wonderful layered with Nemat Sweet Jasmine or Boots Naturals Collection Jasmine oil)).

Osmanthus - A wonderfully delicate yet pervasive white floral scent in the same mode as Linden and Cherry Blossom. A scent reminiscent of fresh apricots delicate and feminine with surprising strength. I love this scent in spring / warmer weather and it always evokes warm summer days for me.
(Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet, Guerlain Purple Fantasy, Guerlain Precious Heart).

Guess I do 'do' florals after all!

NB: I am aware that some of the scents listed do not contain the note that I have listed it under, but I have named them because that is the dominant 'note / accord / character' that I get when I wear them.

Spiritual Sky Night Scented Stock

I am eager to see if anyone has any other suggestions for the scent of garden stock. I have never heard of Spiritual Sky. Where do you find it?

For me -I've never met a flower whose scent I didn't love. :bounce: You could say either that I am all-embracing or indiscriminate!! (Or Gemini - which I am.)

But if I had to choose - it would be peony.

Another curious Gemini here enjoying every single flower there is! In perfumery, I mean.

Amazingly, roses -- do not care about them in a bouquet -- too hard to keep them long and always feel sad when they die. Do not like to tend growing roses -- too much pain in the neck. Also, did you guys know that if no proper care is taken of the garden roses, they are becoming wild? Just starting appreciating rose-based perfumes, and possibilities seem endless.

In real life my favorite flowers would be white carnation, lily, lily of the valley, daffodils, lilacs, huge white chrisanthemums, and now in TX -- zinnias!

oohhh, don't get me started on the flowers and their scents. My favourite floral scents are:

iris, rose, violets, lilacs, lilies, jasmine, honeysuckle, gardenia, peonies and some orchids.

My favourite flowers are often scentless like bluebells, cornflowers, daisies and forget-me-nots, but as a perfume ingredient I like carnation, heliotrope, iris, jasmine, lily, orange blossom, rose and violet.

Mostly I don't like gardenia, hyacinth, lily of the valley, mimosa and tuberose, but I can bear them in some scents if they are well-blended.

I like any flower you put in front of me. My favorite is a blossom from my magnolia tree, floating a small crystal bowl, that scents the entire room. Magnolia fragrances tend to go too sweet for me, though. For fragrances, I like deep dry florals. Rose, lily, lilac, gardenia are my favorites. I like the occasional violet and carnation very well, too.

Fragrance-wise I enjoy lilies, frangipani, orange blossom, magnolia, ylang ylang. I enjoy most florals as long as they are well balanced and not powdery.

A flower I love in a bouquet but detest in a perfume is rose. Something about it just doesn't sit right on my skin.

Donna and Moondeva - have you tried the (discontinued) Penhaligon's Night Scented Stocks? It's sometimes available on eBay, and it's a real shame they discontinued it; it was a really beautiful and true representation of the flower. I've one precious bottle, which I use very seldom for fear of running out!

For me, iris and violets win the flower battle. I really love lily of the valley - I had some muguet sprigs in my wedding bouquet (at appalling cost - we got married in September and had forced flowers sent from Holland), I love green, narcissus-type scents (Vol de Nuit's a favourite) and I *love* tuberose. That said, the smell of tuberose and gardenia is so extreme that they're barely *floral* for me; I don't really seem to categorise those notes alongside the quieter flowers.

Well, this is an interesting question because my all-time favorite flower to smell, the rose, is the one I cannot wear, even in the beautiful Rosines. I also love lilies and jasmine but can't wear those scents well, either!! The flowers I love that I can wear well are carnation, heliotrope, iris, linden, gardenia (sometimes), lavender, orange flower, wisteria (if it's in a green mixture), and lilac. Mostly I'm a spices/herbs/woods person.

I am very reluctant to wear soliflores or even straight florals. However, those I love usually have heliotrope, osmanthus, iris and ylang-ylang. And I love jasmine when masterfully blended and animalic, as in Mona di Orio's Carnation.

Putting on my garden geek hat for a second- The name bluebell is used for scads of different flowers, some of which are not even distantly related. The English bluebell, called common, but actually becoming rarer, has a wonderful scent. As far as I know, the others do not.

I love many flowers for their scent, but Oriental/Trumpet lilies are by quite a margin, my favorite. I do wish Lutens' Un Lys had been Un Autre Lys.
