perfume gift for my mother

I decided you ask in the "men's room" too since so many of you are also very knowledgeable about women's scents and I know not everyone reads the women's section. At any rate, I'd like some suggestions for an everyday perfume for my mother. I hear her comment more on men's fragrances that she likes more often than women's, so maybe something in the unisex area. Thanks for your ideas.

Eau des Merveilles or some of the Guerlain Aqua Allegorias. These are very modern, most are unisex.

I think l'artisan mure et musc extreme is a great choice cause it's unique and aside from people who might prefer some other version of the same idea, I don't think anyone can resist this fragrance, although it's probably not something one would ever wear every day. Most of the other suggestions above are a lot riskier, I think! I have given MEME to three women and they all were very pleased with it.

Jasmine de Nuit by Parfumerie Generale. My surrogate mother adores this to no end, and it's the only bottle she would dare put next to Chanel No. 5.

tell us more about your mum....

Flambouyant type? Conservative? How old? Occupation? Interests? What she is using currently? etc

She's older/retired. She works out with her friends in aerobics daily and is somewhat flambouyant. I wanted a daily suggestion for after her workout, so probably something not too strong that would overwhelm in the locker room. I have no idea what she now uses.

Sounds like Eau Sauvage might work, but Mugler's Cologne might be perfect as well. Also Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria series options, Herba Fresca and Lemon Fresca might suit.
Best of luck,
