Opinions on Lorenzo Villoresi Dilmun?

Hi,

I ever was a fan of the Villoresi line (Sandalo, Musk, Uomo, Piper Nigrum) and I am very interested in your opinions on DILMUN. It was mentioned a couple of times in my recent "summer nights scent"-thread.

I know its primary a neroli scent but reading the notes pyramid it looks that there is much more going on. Is that true?

Could anyone describe it for me? Is it on par with the other masterpieces by maestro Lorenzo?

that was an inside ebay germany joke. we recently bid on the same perfume without knowing it. Christian mentioning Dilmun just now seemed like more than a coincidence.

@costello: you can focus on the dilmun and I'll go after the colonia, or the other way 'round. BN members shall corner the German ebay Villoresi market (too bad it ain't that big)

I've worn Dilmun for a number of years. I really don't detect that much neroli. I think it's a wonderful scent though. The only off-putting thing about it is what I believe is the geranium. Faintly skunk-like, but I'll continue to wear.

Hi Cos,

Those who know me here at BN know that I am (in general) a fan of
HEAVY, STRONG, EARTHY, STINKY, etc. fragrances. That being said,
Lorenzo Villoresi DILMUN (which is NOT like the aforementioned types)
happens to be one of my FAVORITE (mostly worn) Summer fragrances!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND by SixCats!

To me, Dilmun is an odd scent. It starts off masculine then changes to something slightly feminine.

I have tested it today and its definitely a beautifull high-quality (IMO) neroli frag that gets sweeter and sweeter (you might call it "more feminine") with its progression. I will give it another try in summer. I have recently bought another sweet neroli (L Occitane Neroli Edp) and thats enough for the moment. Thanks again for posting you opinions....

@kulturprogramm: Go for that bottle on ebay. If your opionion on Neroli EdP hasent changed significantly I wouldnt invest too much, though. They share a certain sweentness that distinguishes them clearly from the classical "male" neroli tradition you love that much.

I'm with Giannis & Renato starts off as a nice interesting summer fragrance but dries down to something that just grates on my nerves.
