What is/are your favorite citrus fragrances for the summer? - Page 2

Favorite summer fragrances are the light vetiver scents like: Paul Smith Story, Gendarme and Thierry Mugler Cologne. Like a spring morning rain.

Also enjoy the light wood fragrances, although not citrus they are excellent, from Comme de Garcon: Cinnamon, and Kyoto.

try them - tested and true.

There's a classic! I don't have it, but I can remember clear as day how wonderful it smells! Maybe I should buy some.

My top faves have been:
--Monsieur Balmain
--Citron Citron by Miller Harris
--Signoricci...though not totally a pure citrus, I use it for its very noticeable yet smooth mandarin and petitgrain.
--honorable mention to Marquis by Crown...sharp citrusy/fruity/green (IMO)

And permit me to share with you a recipe for one of three homemade citrus blends of essential oils I'm making. It's "curing," so I won't be able to try it for another month or two. Wish me luck! (This is for 1 oz., EDT strength or slightly stronger)

TOP
bergamot 25 drops
lemon 15
grapefruit 4
petitgrain 3

HEART
neroli 20
orange blossom 20
clove 5
black pepper 3
ylang ylang 2
rose 1

BASE
cedar himalaya 15
patchouli 4
benzoin 2

Otto "Old Fellow",

When you get to NYC, stop in to Saks and try Castle Forbes Lime and Gentleman's Cologne. Way too expensive, but great for what you need.

Eau D'Hadrian
CK One Summer
Terre D'Hermes

These for sure. There are others for summer only, just not citrus. I also don't include TM Cologne. I just think SOAP when I smell it. Not citrus.

Well life has gotten easier, at least in regards to this question since

http://community.basenotes.net/showthread.php?t=183853

I'd say the top would be:

1 Lowe Para Hombre
2. Selection Verte .
3. Signoricci

And, though not strictly 'citrus' all the way to drydown:

1. Blenheim Bouquet
2. CDG Vettiveru
3. Creed's 1948 Vetiver
4. Gai Mattiolo Uomo

As to oranges, I'm still stuck though:

Since I still haven't tried 75% of the ones mentioned . . .

Cheers--And cool breezes,

Mario.
