New Hermes scent - Kelly Caleche by Jean Claude Ellena

NowSmellThis just got the news that Hermes (one of my fav lines) is coming out with a new scent called 'Kelly Caleche'. It's using the word 'kelly' in the context of those kelly bags that Hermes is known for. Plus Caleche is another Hermes scent (sorry, I've never sniffed Caleche). Best news of all: Jean Claude Ellena is the perfumist!

Really looking forward to this - however can I say that I think the color of the fragrance is very 'Barbie Dream House' and I kinda hate the name...but if it smells great, I won't care.

Ellena has been the in-house perfumer for Hermes since 2005 so I would guess that all Hermes frags since 2005 would be made by him.

Thanks a lot for the info!
I love all the versions of Calèche and even though this one is not a reinterpretation, i would still like to smell it just to see if Hermès can still give us something different.

Sorry, I love the pink ( I always dreamed of having a Barbie Dream House!). I don't mind the name because it is as close as I'll ever get to a Kelly bag ( which I also covet deep in my heart). I love leather fragrances so I say bring it on!

So how do you pronounce Caleche? Is it CAAHHH - LESH ? Or is it KAY-LECK? Or neither?

It is pronounced with a hard C...Kaylesh.

When I first saw the name Kelly and then Hermes, I saw green. Kelly green and the green of Hermes' jardin bottles. Then I read leather, and grew hopeful. I want to stop hoping, because it has never worked out with regard to a fragrance launch.

I understand Quarry - the past few releases from Hermes have been kind of a rollercoaster for me too (Osmanthe Yunnan, Terre d'Hermes, Paprika Brasil and Elixir des Merveilles) - real LOVE or HATE scents.

Here's hoping KC is a 'love'.

Leather, did someone just say leather???

I just checked out the link, thanks for the heads up, mikeperez23.

Personally I don't like sodapop pink liquids, as it reminds me of the fruity, more girly fragrances and not a floral leather. The bottle is shaped similarly to the "un jardin..." series -- which I adore.

As for the name "Caleche", it's very pretty and reminds of someone elegant, sophisticated and oh, so very french.

Could be interesting, definitely worth a test drive this summer.
