Canada Post asks me "What's inside?" for my fragrance sales...

For my most frequent fragrance sales, the transaction at the post office have been as follows:

Post office: "What's inside this parcel?"
Me: "Cosmetic sample."
Post office: "There isn't any perfume or cologne in there, right?"
Me: "No ma'am."

They never used to ask me. Is this a recent policy of Canada Post not to ship fragrances, or to at least give plausible deniability? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Don't get me started on the ludicrously high prices Canada Post charges to ship a tiny parcel, much less a shoebox-sized package! Egads!

my local postie knows that I ship fragrances and he tells me not to worry. He tells me to fill in the form properly and enter either "cosmetics" or "collectible" if it is a bigger package.

Funny thing about pricing a package for shipment, I'm trying to figure it out.... shipping overseas sometimes is cheaper than domestic, huh?

IMO the ban on shipping perfumes and colognes is just another example of a beaureaucratic decision used in an attempt to convince the people that their government has saved them from destruction and death.

And we pay them to do this..
