I crave a specific type of tobacco scent and need suggestion.

Something fresh that works for summer. Tobacco, vetiver, citrus and maybe some light musk.
So far I'm leaning towards Creed's Tabarome, but does it work in the summer heat?
I love the fresh tobacco note in The Dreamer, but the rest of it is way too loud for me. The same for D&G pour Homme.
I have Guerlain's Vetiver, love it, but does anyone do its tobacco/vetiver thing, only inverted?
I love SL's Fumerie Turque, but I'm saving it for Fall/Winter.
The Miller Harris tobacco's didn't grab me.
I find Fresh Tobacco Flower too sweet for me.
Also, no rose notes, please.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Eau de Gloire by Parfum d'Empire maybe.

I was thinking of Tabarome as well.

Maybe try some Vera Wang, although it doesn't seem to last long.

Thanks, I'll stop by Aedes tomorrow and give it a try. The notes seem promising.

Nicolai Pour Homme, though where I live the avg summer temp is 71 f so I can't put it in the avg summer context.

This looks intriguing. Haven't tried it.

Haven't tried this either.

Tabarôme Millésime does ok in heat.

SMN's Acqua Di Cuba might be a nice one for you...
Tobacco, but alao a citrus note or two, and leather...but not heavy.

I love the tobacco and vetiver notes in G-11 by Il Profumo, which you can sample at

www.luckyscent.com

great for summer, it is not sweet at all, in fact I called it a new Aramis for the 21st Cent. Very masculine and modern, but it is not lacking in structure or character.

Czech & Speake Cuba:

http://www.czechspeake.com/products....id=39&deptid=1

bergamot, lime, peppermint, layered with rose, clove, bay & frankincense, tobacco, and vetiver

NOTE: It says rose, but I'll be darned if I ever smelled any, and I'm 1/2 way through a bottle.

I found Tabarome by Creed one of the Creed's that kinda 'bored' me...if you don't want the tobacco you found in D&G I don't think you're gonna like Tabarome.

Have you tried Velvet Rope by Apothia? I found the 'smoke' note just perfect.

I ordered samples of Pluran and Joe's Lucky Scent ideas. The Bois Blond, unfortunately, is sold out. Mike, you may be right about the Tabarome/D&G tobacco similarity - I've been on the fence about it and this might explain why. I have a difficult time finding C&S products in New York, Thebark, do you know who carries them? - I will check out Cuba when I can track it down. The SMN sounds good, too, cahayaruchama. Thanks everyone!

Cambridge Chemists is where I ordered mine from. Their website now links to http://www.pharmacyny.com/c-9-fragrances-for-men.aspx. So you're in luck, right in New York City!

I found that Havana works best in the summer for me. The summer heat brings out all the other accompanying notes IMO. It's a bit strong at first but mellows out quickly. Just be careful with the trigger.

Thanks ajmc, I've got Eau de Gloire by Parfum d'Empire on my left wrist. I ran over to Aedes on my lunch break. I like it, dry, no citrus, lovely leather note.
Tom Ford must of had it on his wrist when he came up with his Tuscan Leather.

Rugs:

Let me/us know what you think of G-11 when you get it. Also, on C&S 88- - they have had it at Takashimaya in the recent past, but not sure if they still do. Maybe you might call them before heading uptown for it. I personally DO smell a lot of rose in it, and that is the dominant element that comes across IMHO, but you may see (smell?) it differently. Also, there is a tobacco note in J. Peterman 1903, but it is light, as the entire fragrance is light, so not sure it would meet your criteria. Good luck and let us know the results of your efforts.

Ruggles,
Tabac original by Maurer and Wirz should work well.
Spray sparingly, however.

Karthic.

Joe

I just tried G-11 and I love it. It doesn't remind me of Aramis.
G-11, Eau de Gloire by Parfum d'Empire and Tom Ford Tuscan Leather are so similiar. It will be one of these.
