Date cologne - hot weather

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I'm 25 and I have a date (also 25) Thursday night at a Mexican restaurant. It also has an outdoor seating area that we might sit in. It is supposed to get down to ~75, but at this time in the evening it might still be about 80. Also, I live in AZ so it's not very humid if that matters.

I was hoping for a recommendation for a good cologne. From my collection, I think the following might be good, but I can't choose:

Top choices:
Creed GIT, MI, or Himalaya
Gucci Envy
Chanel Egoiste, or Platinum Egoiste

But, I also have:
KC Reaction
Burberry Brit
Terre Hermes (I really don't like this one though, all I smell is cedar =[)
Rochas Man
Armani Code
Bulgari PH, Aqua

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Can't go wrong with the proven GIT, but Rochas Man seems to be my winner of the group.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

M.I. first and second GIT...you can´t get wrong with that.
I would prefer M. Imperial if you want to impress and GIT if you don´t want to attack the date person...is more laid back (but also nice)
SMW is also a good choice for hot weather (and for your age).

I vote for Egoiste Platinum

I'd go with Cool Water. I mean GIT. Whatever. Something about this scent just screams "I like you as a friend... let's get friendly." In warm weather. I went to a party that had a lot of South American exchange students, and in the heat and mass of bodies, one scent stuck out. Cool Water. It smells real good in the heat, and so does GIT.

Terre D' Hermes - this mineral vegetal juice will go well with the outdoor mexican restaurant atmosphere in the 80s.

You say you dont like it much but hey it was in the list !

I'd definitely go with MI! Good luck on your date!

Forget GIT. I would most deffinately choose MI for you. I don't really like that scent but I feel like it would work the best for your situation. Besides, girls like it and it is a sophisticated scent with a little bit of sweetness to it that is very inviting. I think it will suit your hot, humid night with class!!

Himalaya or Terre.
Égoïste Plt. only if you're wearing a suit.
Aqua if it's very informal and laid-back.

I would go with a light application of GIT or Himalaya. Not MI. which is too strong and synthetic and would put me off my food.

Egoiste plat or MI.. GIT is more business..

I agree that MI is a good safe choice, given that we don't know about your date.

And you if you want to unload Terre D'Hermes, I'm your man!

I played solo guitar in a Mexican restaurant for over a year. The nice pungent food smells permeated everywhere, so I could go as heavy as I wanted to with the cologne, and that was fun. In your list it would be Gucci Envy for me, but on a first date, that might be pushing it, unless you're nearly certain that it could be Sexy Time!

Of course, now we'll want to know how the date went!

Cheers, Dave

As a woman with a hyper-sensitive sense of smell, I have two opposing - but - complementary suggestions, both based on : don't think about it.

- don't wear any scent

or

- choose one spontaneously based on how you're feeling as you're getting ready

Scent is a "thing" for me though, so this advice is quite likely absolutely irrelevant for your situation.

Do tell us how things go / went!

wear whichever you like best...

I think M.I would be the best choice
