Best creed that's not ripped off...

Ok, so all the good Creeds have been copied (GiT, SMW, IM), what of theirs is left that's as good as these, and doesn't remind one of something cheap?

I've been trying Acier Aluminum lately and I'm starting to dig it a lot. It may just be one more Creed that I'm gonna have to get. I think most of the "old" Creeds have not been duplicated (BdP, REL, etc) with the exception of GIT.

The following might interest you:

Royal Delight (turkish rose + leather)
Creed Vetiver '48 EDT (vetiver + ginger)
Baie De Genievre EDT (juniper and cinnamon )
Santal Imperial EDT (sandalwood extreme!)
Acier Aluminum EDT (sexy fruit..)

From the private collection:

Vintage Tabarome (green tea + lots of tobacco)

Cuir De Russie (very unusual and addictive leather fragrance; citrus + ambergris + raw hide!)

Thats all I can think of ... try them all and see what gels with you.

I'll have to check out the Santal one, I like sandalwood. Thanks for the suggestions.

Erolfa, I don't know of any fragrance that smells like Erolfa.
Apologies if this takes the thread in a different direction, but I would be interested in some basic characterizations of which Creeds have been imitated and by whom and which fragrance?

MI is very much like Unforgivable by Sean John
Himalaya is like XS by Paco Rabbane
GIT is like Cool Water
Original Santal is like Joop Homme (do I have this one right?)
All of your comparisons are backwards Borky!

Unforgivable is like MI, not the other way around and so on.

I'm sure that if you do a search for "Creed smells like" you'll find a few threads giving you what you want.

As far as I know, no successful clone has been made of:

AA, Cuir de Russie, SI, or Royal Delight. Erolfa is an aquatic, don't get your hopes up on getting something that hasn't been cloned. Actually, Erolfa is a Marine scent, but now I'm splitting hairs. Have a wonderful evening free of BSE.

Yes. Acier for me as well.

BdP is pretty similar to Guerlain's Heritage and PdN's New York.

I don't think the Tabaromes (Vintage and Millesime) have been duplicated.

I'm sorry, but "all the good Creeds" have not been copied. Only a few have been. You won't be finding clones of Baie de Genièvre (nearly random example) or any number of others.

I fear it's only a matter of time...

I agree that neither of the Tabarome's have been copied. I don't think I've smelled an Erolfa copy.

Also Neroli Savage and Green Valley (one of the most under appreciated Creeds!) haven't been copied as far as I know.

Finally! Another Green Valley fan! It's so hard to find some appreciation for GV on BN.

at the end all of this Creed wanna be scents can´t mess with Creed and smells different. Especially when it comes to the Middle and Basenotes...nothing smells like that...maybe some notes...you can say that to cars, music ans so on...Creed very very special.
You can´t compare BdP to Guerlain Heritage...how many times BdP change on your skin...wonderful scent.

I own and love Baie de Geniévre... I do think Versace L'Homme bears some similarity-- though the BdG is much better.

Baie de Geniévre is my favorite Creed that I've tried.

I'd like to try the Santal one, but since you can't get decants anymore, I'm not really sure what to do.

I know that GIT and Himalaya remind people of other scents, and that some people think Original Santal is Creed's version of Joop, but I can't think of any scent that reminds me of Silver Mountain Water. Which scent did you have in mind in relation to it?
Thanks,
Renato

CK1 and Bvlgari Au The Vert are supposed to be similiar to it. I've never smelled CK1, but I can confirm that Vert is indeed similiar in feel (but considerably less sweet).

BTW, I'm going to have to check out BDG!! Sounds nice.

Erolfa is unique and very good in my opinion. AA is also unique but I'm not really sure its that good.

Thanks for that. I can't say I see the connection with CK1 (though it's ages since I last smelled it) but I'll definitely check out the Bvlgari one - I think I saw the woman's one in a shop two weeks ago.

Defintiely Erolfa. Never been duplicated and nothing else is even similar in my opinion. Creed has so many great fragrances - more than any other house IMO, that I am sure many have not been copied. Bois D' Cedrat is excellent and I know of nothing just like it. But as far as the best goes - Erolfa!
