first date suggestions

I live in the big city, am recently single after 10 years, am 40 and have a first date with a 37 year old woman who is urban, sophisticated, a fashion designer but somewhat traditional...

It will be between 75 and 85 degrees tomorrow and I am trying to decide:

Artisan Piquant Brulant
SL Daim Blond
YSL M7 Fresh
Gendarme
Gai Mattiolo
Herrera for Men
MPG Route de Vetiver
Malle Vetiver Extroadinaire
Patou PH
Artisan Cologne Mure et Musc
Desprez Versailles pour homme
Balanciaga Pour Homme

Obviously, the date makes the date and the scent is merely a mood and memory...

Great collection, Jlros! So many great ones packed into that small bunch.

I think the vetivers would be a good suggestion too, but my taste runs to Route du Vetiver more than VE. That's just me though. I think there's more adventure in it, and I think first dates should suggest adventure yet to have in the subsequent dates.

Patou PH is also a smasher, and Herrera for Men is a perfect choice too. I've never smelled the Desprez myself, but I'd take it for the adventure as well.

You can't go wrong with anything you pick from what you've got. Man, pretty savvy consuming.

Thanks for the compliment Chris,

I tend to be more drawn to RdV than VE most of the time, it is earthy, dry and sensual in a way I find amazing I do wonder if it is too strong 'challenging' for a first date.

Thanks again all for input...anyone else...

I wouldn't go for vetiver as some people really don't like it and get an "elephant house" smell from it.
Reading your description I would have said a light application of Habit rouge was the way to go. Its not in your wardrobe though......

Go for something classic and not overbearing (like VE can be) lightly applied.

It`s got to be Patou PH.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with a lot of the frags listed, but I think it'd be wise to choose based on the time of day and temperature. In addition, you'll want to think about what activities you've planned for the date. Dancing makes things a bit more complicated with the sweat.

Good luck!

Artisan Cologne Mure et Musc

I think the Vetiver Extraordinaire is a good option but what ever you do end up using, make sure and don't over apply. Far better to under apply then over apply.

M7 Fresh

I'd avoid the vetiver altogether.

I'd probably opt for the Patou, but keep it very light. Two dabs, max.
