I was in a little perfume place today that has lots of discontinued frags and on a whim bought Coriolan and Ungaro II based solely upon comments here on basenotes. Wow! What dynamic and very different fragrances! Coriolan seems to be at its best in the dry down--lots of pepper, no Guerlinade.... interesting. Ungaro II is really something--smooth lavender--I don't get much of the animalistic, sensual note, but it is very compelling none the less and should be interesting to grow into. Why is there such a fascination with discontinued scents? Some are wonderful and I suppose it is natural to want to capture their fleeting nature while one can.....
