There is a sale coming up at Meyers, I hear. And a new Mecca at Booragoon, with CdG fumes, Serge Lutens, Rosines, Keihl's Musk and some others. I will post back more after my JOB INTERVIEW on Thurs.

Hi girls, how are you?

Is the Myer sale part of their stock-take one on at the moment? What sort of discounts come with fragrances? DJs are about to have a general sale too.

Are there any boutique perfumeries or cosmetics/perfume stores in Perth? I'm originally from Melbourne and loved Kleins and one called Paint'n'Powder and I miss them! I recently bought Marc Jacobs for her off ebay, and am waiting for it to arrive...I have purchased this without a sniff or spray so I hope I like it - it is a blind jump.

Well, there is Perfume Connections, that's a big discount perfume chain. And there is some sort of Perfume Store (or used to be) in Freo that I saw one time but never made it in. One of us should check that out. Then there are the ones mentioned in the other thread. I should make a list. Hey, that's a good idea. Are you interested in getting in on our Sniff -n-Sip we are planning? Oh, don't forget Mecca Cosmetics. There is one in Claremont, one in the CBD and a new one at Booragoon.

I won't know about this job for a week or so, but the interview went really, really well and it would be a great place to work (except for getting there and back and parking, le sigh, guess I would have to become a bus rider. blaahh!) There is another job I am very interested in Freo that closes on the 15th, it would probably be even better, but is Government, so probably more competition. I love Freo and would kill to work down there, so we will see.
I started putting together a list of perfume buying and sniffing places. I am finishing up some Open Uni courses and my husband has most of next week off, so I am very busy for the next 5 to 7 days, but after that, we will figure out a day and time for a sniff-n-sip. Maybe towards the end of June, I am thinking. Start weighing in with ideas of days and places to meet, all. I can coordinate otherwise.
ohhhh, this is going to be fun!!!

Hi Jillsy! We used to live very close to the Galleria. Now we are closer to the new Midland Gate. I'll have to check them out for scent shops.
I've only looked at scents at Myers in Galleria, but I think there is another shop on the upstairs level of the mall that is ONLY scents.
I'll have to check it out more closely too.
Myers Galleria used to have much more variety in their perfumes, now I can't even find my Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune there.

I wouldn't envy you struggling into the CBD everyday though! Ick!!
However... lunch hour perfume shopping perhaps!!?
I'm glad to have settled into a job I really like, at a company I really enjoy working for.
You know.... I could have some quality lunch hour fragrance shopping myself... at the Galleria!

Hey........I am now a BASENOTES MEMBER instead of a NEW MEMBER. Cool!!
It must have something to do with how many posts you do in the threads in that case.

thats a bugger... yeah i used to live in noranda... we moved just before the big boom in the housing market lol

I love Fremantle - I would love to live there, but as I work in the city is would be hard commuting every day. I always have this desire to be by the sea - I love the Indian Ocean, and the feeling that I am on the edge of this earth when I look out over it.

Unfortunatly, though I have been living in Perth for a while now, I have not come across any perfume specialty stores yet - I live in Northbridge and work in the city, as I said, so I normally shop in the same area.

lannansidhe, what were you studying, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks

Peachlove, in which part of Northbridge are you?
We lived in Palmerston Street until last year. Its great having the city at your very door isnt it?
As for specialist perfume stores, there is one named "Perfumes et Moi" in South Perth shopping piazza. The womans name is Linda and she imports MANY hard to find lines.

I emailed Linda at Perfumes et Moi and she said they are having an instore stock-take sale until the end of June.
Sounds like a place a person should be!!
Wanna come back to Perth from Denmark for a visit???

Linda is very nice... when I worked in David Jones, I often referred customers to her (those who seeked hard-to-find scents that DJs didnt stock). I think she'd get quite a kick to learn I'm still doing it (but now from the other side of the planet)!
A stocktake sale sounds great too! You GO girl!

My wife of 8 years and I were tired of the dry, hot Perth summers and longed for some adventure in our life. We both have family living in Southern Europe, and we decided on DK as a base as we had travelled here several times and fell quite in love with the place. We sold everything we own, and arrived here with just a suitcase each to start afresh.
Now, some 14 months after our arrival, we enjoy our new home... but the 'honeymoon' was cut short when we find ourselves still struggling with the "lingo".
Mum still lives in Perth, so of course we plan to return to visit as often as we can

So there ya have it. Your story?

Wow! That was very brave of you and your wife Dimitri.
I'm afraid I arrived in Perth with something a little bigger than a suitcase... it was a sea container!
But I did come by myself... but I was coming to somebody!
I met my husband first via the Internet. (Yes kids it does happen in this day and age! LOL)
We knew each other for several years as friends. We chatted, spoke via phone, saw each other via web cam, etc. until I finally made a holiday trip to Australia and we met face to face for the first time.
He was just as he was from a distance and I'm afraid we just knew it was going to happen.
He came to Canada for a visit after that.
I went back to Australia again. God all that travel was getting expensive!!
Then he asked me to marry him and I said .... ummmm ummmmm YES!
So after that it was all down/up hill from there!!!
We decided to live in Australia mainly because it's winter weather is kinder to people starting to get on in years, he had a job here, etc.
So here I am! Married to a Pommy Aussie, I'm now a Permanent Resident, I've got a great part time permanent job and we are happy to just be together and alive!!
There is so much more but I won't bore you.

Hey everyone.. Doesn't look like much activity here...
I was just wondering if anyone knows of any places in Perth where you can possibly sample fragrances from houses like Creed..
I found that many of the places like Myers, David Jones, Perfume Connection ..., etc. have many of the common ones, but nothing really special..

Forgive me for bumping this thread but I had trouble finding Creed in WA, and upon Googl'ing I found www.heavenlyperfumes.com.au which is based in Ellenbrook.

I went there today and purchased;

120ml Creed Virgin Island Water
100ml Ghost Ghost Male
100ml Givenchy Pi (omg!)
2 atomisers

Both Judie/Judy and Graham were extremely hospitable considering they invited me into their home and more than happy to let me try a number of different perfumes as well as taking the time to educate my brother and I. I left spending a couple hundred bucks and feeling very happy. Definately check them out.
