This summer which is your favorite "Cologne"

not EDT or EDP

EDC

mine has been my 6.5oz trusty bottle of Hermes Eau d'Orange Verte and I'm spritzing in the heat like a madman.

I think we do this every summer and I want to see what's new under the sun (pun intended)

I may eventually grant Hermes Eau d'Orange Verte a personal warrant as a supplier to my hot weather needs. I need a quality inexpensive splash-on cologne (4711 is oh so yesteryear)...any other inexpensive splash frags ?

I was in Germany last month and bought a 50 ml. bottle of Sir Irisch Moos, yes, that is the correct spelling, for 9 Euros. It's made in Germany and technically it's not a true cologne, but it certainly is a well done, fresh and inexpensive pick-me-up type scent. You have to like moss based scents to enjoy it as there isn't much else going on. I've never seen it available in the US before. Have you?

Hi Mike, welcome back too you ,too!
Is it easy to find? I'm fascinated by these quality, freshen-up type scents and the original Azureé is a beauty. I'm very curious what Mr. Ford did to modernize it.

Recent colognes (as opposed to EDTs) I've purchased are C&E's West Indian Lime and Penhaligon's Endymion. Both have worked very well for me this summer. The longevity of both are on par with many EDTs I own, and Endymion seems to be one of the longest lasting fragrances I have, period.

Eau de cologne strength scents preferred in the summertime. Got it. Great question.

For me it's between three: Molinard Vervienne (an edc), Molinard Vetyver (also an edc), and, like Circa1905, Aqua di Parma Colonia.

I use Vervienne after nighttime showers after running, and love it then. I use Acqua di Parma for special occasions in the summer, and love it then. For all around best of the three, and most useful, and under-the-radar greatness, my favorite has to be Molinard Vetyver. 250ml bottles sell for about USD$30 online. Great stuff, and pretty long lasting. Not a famous vetiver, but better than many many many.

Guerlain Imperiale is my only recent edc purchase. I'm loving it.

We're gonna be heading into summer pretty soon

I can't wait to start using my Mugler Cologne.
Ill be using 4711 and Monsieur Balmain a lot as well.

Great question - not so great summer in Germany, though. I've been wearing spicy orientals some days...

When it does get hot, I enjoy CdG Vettiveru, which is this years favorite, I think. But there's also:
Eau d'Orange Verte
AcQua di Parma
Villoresi Colonia
Guerlain du Coq, Imperiale & Eau de Guerlain
Nicolai Cologne Sologne

...and, though not EdC, Monsieur Balmain & Trumper GFT are great lemon scents, and Dominguez Vetiver hombre is always a summer staple.

CdG Vettiveru
Guerlain - Imperial
Guerlain - Habit Rouge

I've been wearing Truth Men as of late. It is perfect for summer-green, fresh, masculine floral and woody. I find the longevity quite decent for a light fragrance given that a lot of CK fragrances are fleeting.

Dior Homme-either the edc or edt. Combined they have a bit more staying power!

FM Bigarade Concentre, TDC Bergamote, CdG Vettiveru.

Most Estee Lauder counters and the Estee Lauder website are sold out. However, Neiman Marcus (online) has it in stock:

http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/ca...d=prod42470088

It's quite affordable too (for a Tom Ford fragrance), at $38 for the 1.7 oz. However, it is NOTHING like Azuree by EL. Totally different scent. I love it.

Of the frags I have, I'd say Terre d'Hermes is my current summer favorite.

I smelled a Lacoste sample (Green bottle) but I can't remember which one in particular it was. Essential, maybe? It seemed like a good summery scent.

I'm also intending to pick up some Ferrari Passion before things cool off too much, it seems more a summery fragrance than a wintery one.

I generally like to be the one who goes against the crowd...ehh...but my answer is predictable Mugler Cologne. Unforgivable would be a close second. It's not first because I've smelled it on too many people.

My favorites for this summer are Virgin Island Water, Original Vetiver, Millésime Imperial and Silver Mountain Water (Creed)...every hot day it is hard to choose :-)

Bergamot 22 by Le Labo
I've also enjoyed wearing Absolument Absinthe by parfums Interdit.
I prefer EDP's all year round! I also prefer summer all year round...

But I will pull out Bvlgari The Vert alot more than during the rest of the year.

Lorenzo Villoresi Vetiver.

So in the hot weather:

Néroli Sauvage
Silver Mountain Water
Chèvrefeuille Original
Sélection Verte (fabulous, but fabulously expensive, so from a decant)

(Creeds) Virgin Island Water, Silver Mountain Water, M. Imperial and Erolfa

Guerlain Vetiver
Eau D'Orange Verte
Monsieur Balmain (1990)
Fahrenheit
Lanvin Oxygene Homme
Green Jeans
Agua Lavanda
L'Occitane Cade After Shave
D.R. Harris Sandalwood After Shave (for nighttime)
YSL Kouros (just around the house for now...odd but it has its appeal and withstands heat)
Azzaro Pour Homme (always good for a barbershop-plus-a-little-something-extra smell)
It's been hot here, so I have been wearing:

Acqua di Parma
Eau de Hadrien
Eau Sauvage

Luckily at work it's about 50 degrees so I can wear what I want on those days.
The light, cologne-type scents I reached for most often this summer:

Guerlain Cologne du 68
Hermes Eau d'Orange Verte
Hermes Un Jardin Sur le Nil
Hermes Un Jardin en Mediteranee
Marc Jacobs Grass
Eau d'Hadrien
Guerlain Herba Fresca
Miller Harris Fleur du Matin
