Question about an A*men flask

Thread Starter
Hi everyone, recently I bought a 3.4 oz refill of A*men and I encountered a bit of a problem, when I am going to put the juice on, instead of there being a "spray" kind of dispersion there is this annoying -high pressure- -thin line- of fire. Meaning that instead of the juice going everywhere around, there is just this thin line which leaves a wet, concentrated spot on me.
Ok, maybe this wasn't really that clear so I am going to draw it for you:

A*Men:

BO ------------------------------- ME =(
TT (fragrance)
LE

(There is just this thin line of perfume, and concentrates only on one place on my body.)

Other fragracnes:

BO ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ME =)
TT (fragrance)
LE

(Normal "spray" mode which goes everywhere and covers a bigger surface area where the fragrance hits the body.)

This is especially a big problem because A*Men is extremlely loud and strong and I want it to be dispersed, not only on one concentrated place in my body.

Therefore my question to you helpful basenoter is if this is normal, or did I just get a fake one. I bought it on a duty free in Paris, so I doubt it, however you never know.
It's only the refill flask, not with the fancy and eye-catching metal cover. Does this matter on how it sprays?
If someone else have this same problem could you please help me?
Is this a problem of only my bottle?
if not, how can I resolve this annoying dilema?

Loads of thanks

Hi Optimus, I have encounted this same trouble with a brand new bottle of Paul Smith Extreme in the past. Give this a try:
Carefully remove the spray cap from the bottle.
Run it under very warm running water for a minute or so.
Replace the cap and spritz a few more times.

If this fails, remove it again and GENTLY insert the tip of a fine pin or needle into the hole in the front of the cap.

Basically its normally a blockage that creates this superfine jet of fragrance instead of an impressive plume.

If this also fails, return your cap and bottle to your nearest Mugler stockist with an Angel Ambassador, as the company prides themselves on replacing faulty caps for both Angel and A*men products (I used to be an Angel/Amen Ambassador several years ago).

Lemme know how u get on.

Thanks Dimitri
I'll try the running hot water, and then I will tell you if it worked.
However I will not try the needle thing I am too scared of ruining it. =P
Furthermore I have another question, I live in an Latin American country and I bought my fragrance in a duty free in Paris where I doubt I will revisit in one or two years to come. Therefore can I still take it to my nearest retail where they sell Thierry Mugler's perfumes to have it changed if the hot water doesn't work? Even if the store does not have an Angel Ambassador?
Thanks a million

You can remove the fragrance bottle from the metal flask and return the metal flask back to Thierry Muglar Perfumes. If you need an address check the Muglar website. Muglar Perfumes will send you a new metal flask free of charge!

Hey Optimus,
OK, give the hot water a try and think about the pin thing. It does prove quite effective, and, if faced with a trip to the store anyway - theres nothing to lose now is there?
Regarding your Mugler stockist... take it back and explain you bought it THERE (so they feel somehow responsible for the faulty nozzle)... explain to them you have a faulty nozzle, and if they havent an Ambassador or Mugler rep in the store, politely ask if they wouldnt mind removing one of the A*men TESTER nozzles and fitting it to your bottle so see if you can spray with a different result. Most decent SAs will offer you a tester nozzle as a replacement. Good luck!

Scentimus, I think Optimus has just the glass refill that fits inside the metal flask. But youre quite right, if he has any more dramas with a replacement nozzle, he should contact his local Mugler distributor (the store can provide the details) and ask for a replacement at a HO level.

I had the same problem with Gaultier2. I simply replaced the sprayer with another one that fit from another bottle in my collection.

hi
no luck, I used the running hot water and the needle, but nethier worked, so I will have to take it to my nearest retail to see if they can help me there. However thanks all of you, especially Dimitri for all the great help and suggestions.

Youre welcome Optimus.
Nightowl's advice is also very good... give that a try also before racing off to the local store.
