Oh, Riannon,
ouch!
Hope it wasn't the BPAL "Blood Amber," because while that would be eerily appropriate to the condition of your poor foot, I think that's one you'd probably very much enjoy wearing on other pulse points...
It's
CBIHP's In the Library for me today, from a sample. Starts off with an old-world comforting sweetness (labdanum?), but then adds a distinctly papery smell (accurately described by Vibert in a review as "the inside of a paper grocery bag"

-- though old books also smell like this and I happen to love book smell) and a bit of non-citrusy furniture polish (!). I've heard that as it dries down, a subtle burnished leather comes up. Hope so! This is a nice one so far, but more of a "situational/set a scene" fragrance than a "mood" fragrance, I think. I like it, but can't tell whether I'd prefer wearing it or having the room spray version....
Continuing the vacation today with the whole family going to a HUGE water park! A far hue and cry from Monday's excursion into downtown Boston, where in addition to riding the famous swan boats, I visited the Hermes store (threatening infanticide if my kids touched anything

) to spray Ambre Narguile and Poivre Samarcande. The kids voted for A.N., and only pointed out that they liked the $500 enamel bracelets and $800 shirts a couple of times.
