Dior Homme Cologne

I saw it in the airport few days ago. Bottle is same as Dior Homme, but taller, and the volume is 125 ml (largest bottle of Dior Homme is 100 ml).

I was covered by many other frags by the time I saw it, so I did not have capacity t try it carefully. But it seemed very similar to regular DH, so i am not sure what's the difference.

I wonder if anybody else saw it or has information about it.

It's sweeter but not fresher. The orange blossom gives a sweet tone

It felt very similar to me. I guess, if it's lighter and sweeter, it's not worth having a bottle then.

Not necessarily. I admired Dior Homme a lot, but found it unwearable (turned to powder; then started to smell like makeup on my skin). However being a fan of 'green iris' notes, I would give the new DHC a sniff, if it's 'lighter and sweeter'.

The Dior Cologne is available in Canada at the Bay and Holt Renfrew for $92, I believe.

I am surprised to have to dig this deep to find information re
Christian Dior, Homme Cologne.

I had missed this edition completely, perhaps because I stopped reading the enthusiastic discussions following the release of the first, Dior Homme EDT. I had tried to like that one, because I love the house, and hadn't been able to find any fragrance in a long time on the main market for masculine colognes. But this one didn't suit me at all. It appeared to be on the feminine side – a stunner, coming from Dior. Also, this was not my kind of Iris. I never liked Iris that reminds of carrots, but some iris have it (naturals as well as synthethics), and it seemed to be quite prominent in Dior Homme.

By lucky chance, one day in December, I found a pretty little package in my mail, containing a tiny silver box with 5 ml each of Dior Homme EDT and Dior Homme Cologne. As it turned out this must be one of those boxes used for press people at the time of introduction. A good chance to compare both side by side, and I was immediately taken by two important differences: the cologne isn't powdery, and it saves me the carrots (or most of them). Other than what I read in this thread and an earlier one, to me it is not sweeter than the EDT, and their longevity is about equal (I didn’t time it though). By no means could I call the cologne a watered down EDT. But I would probably recommend this for young men to wear, or men starting on colognes.

Well, since I have learned to appreciate the charm of Cologne Blanche, I wanted to really try this 'Homme', and purchased a bottle. I am wearing it with tremendous pleasure. For me, that’s an idea developed to perfection in the cologne, and even within the same house. I am only accustomed to that practice within the Lutens empire. Homme Cologne has a wonderful personal companion quality, and I can’t wait for spring to come. I think it will also be good outside. If there is somebody in search for the smell of innocence ? Stop here!

Disclaimer: I am not blind to the exceptional qualities of the EDT, it just didn't work for me. I mainly recommend it for those to sample who were dissatisfied with the first release. I only counted one positive vote for this second release – too few, I thought.

Hmm...this is what I tried out a couple weeks ago. I found it to be a tad on the thick side with it's sweetness. If there's a fresher/lighter version of it that still maintains it's classy/sophisticated feel, that'll be great! I had no idea there were two Dior Homme products.

Wow, finally found someone who loves this as much as I do. How did you feel about the BdA and Eau Noire? I personally didn't care for them. I can see the appeal, but BdA didn't wear well on my skin...(honey on my skin goes on a bit stinky) and Eau Noire had this foody thing that I didn't enjoy.

There's actually 3 versions out now: EdC, EdT, & EdP. IMHO the EdC is not worth the effort, the EdT is sublime and I've yet to test the EdP. I'm toying with buying the EdP blind

Personally, I do barely feel the difference among the three fragrances, maybe just in the very top notes...
BTW, I slightly prefer the EdC, which I own.

PS: I prefer the Intense Bottle!!!

Ugghhhhh. I thought it was a terrible commercial.

Yes, I think the intense bottle is BAMF too.

Oh, I am still on small samples of the other two, so my knowledge is limited. I find that EN has holy grail quality, like (to me!) Piper Nigrum . BdA is more ethereal but still around the for a long time. There are moments when I think: 1000 ml of each of these, and no other perfume! Reality of course, is full of compromises.

Sorry to hear that honey notes disturb you. I love some colognes particularly for that note, and my nose seems to be equipped to even enlarge it's smell (Givenchy G, Kouros, Dorsay's Tilleul) - given the chance, I look for it also in shoe and furniture polish.
