On this occasion of my 1000th post, it's just like your first confirmation or bar mitzvah, I'd like to thank many people.
First of all, my mother. And because she always bought from Avon and kept the house full of fragrance when there were no other options in rural Maine.
First and a half, the Catholic Church, for the incense and the spectacular show of the Mass.
Second, I'd like to thank 'Evening in Paris', that blue bottle. Not because I ever wore it but because it was so iconic of the time that I became aware of scents.
Third, Yves St. Laurent and Chanel, who, during the 1980's, tapped into my new-found cash from my first summer job with their offerings of Kouros and Antaeus.
Last but not least, Grant Osborne aka counselor of fragance addicts and creator of the best on-line source for fragrances AND all of you, my well-read, well-informed, and most discriminating basenoters.
Have a great weekend!
