Fragrances with a slightly "sinister" side.........

Thread Starter
In the recent Ungaro III thread a lot of people dissagree as to whether or not the fragrance has a "dark" side to it. On the reviews a lot of people describe it as dark or gothic.
Personally I make this dark connection. I do love the fragrance, but I consider it ice-cold and very melancholic. A sort of Edgar Alan Poe of fragrances.
I thought it would be an interesting idea for a new thread.
Which fragrances have a sinister side.............. ?

Czech & Speake no.88 definitely
Tea For Two (althought I'm sure many will disagree with me on this one)

Well, a sinister fragrance would have to be something "non-comforting", so my candidate would be, Caron's L'Anarchiste. The smell of blood, metal and orange - a mangled body in a car that crashed into an orange grove during the small hours of the night. too morbid?

I know it's to a real man's scent but the most sinister, horror-filmish scent I know is vintage Mitsouko. I own it but don't wear it often, it makes me goosey all over. But what a masterpiece. Guerlain has no really sinister scents for men.

I second: No. 88 by Czech and Speake = sinister, in a creepy gentleman sort of way (Jack The Rpper-esque..?)

I will also add: Film Noir by Ava Luxe

L'Artisan Passage D'Enfer
L'Anarchiste by Caron
Idole de Lubin
Monk by Michael Storer (smells like a graveyard to me)

I happen to love scents with a dark and dangerous edge to them. A few that come to mind:

Idole de Lubin (again)
Knize Ten (smells like a gentlemen's club, but leaves you wondering what goes on there after hours...)
Pomegranate Noir (Victorian gothic romance)
Black Aoud (dark, savage, brutal)
Nuit Noir (big time dark 'n' dirty)
Etat Libre d'Orange Charogne (decadent, like Oscar Wilde's Salome)
Une Fleur de Cassie (pretty, pretty flowers with an undertone of decay)
Jardin du Nil (ditto)
and even the much-maligned French Lover (suave, sophistcated, but could be a cat burglar hiding in the tux).

Completely agree with the comments on l'Anarchiste--metal, oranges, blood... where can it all lead?

Anything with rubber or rubber/leather can have a sinister edge to it and I think that Kouros, which smells like rotting fruit in Chinatown to me, has a definite sinister side--I know that it is controversial of me to say that on these boards!

I'll second francois' choice of Salvador Dali for Men. DEFINITELY -- if there were a Satan, he would wear this stuff while flames shot out his ass and horns grew out of his head, no doubt about it. Diabolical hell-juice, indeed! (Not that I don't like it, mind you . . . )

Secretions Magnifique is so sinister it is fear-inducing. Think Mr. Dahmer. Okay, this is more than just slightly.

Surpringly,

Bandit

has not been mentioned. This is the darkest perfume I now.
Of course there is Jacomo by Jacomo, but who calls that a perfume?
