I just spoke with Matthew Roben from Parfums Raffy and it is indeed discontinued as of right now. He said that they may start producing it again but the way he talked the company itself doesn't even know what they're going to do yet. This was a favorite of mine at a cheap price. It's a shame.

I find this to be so wonderfully complex. It evolves throughout the day like few other fragrances that I've tried. I have not tried the EDT, but I love the EDP so much I'm gonna stick with it....

This is one of those sweet fragrances that men in their late 40's are not supposed to like, but I'll wear what I darn well please! The fact that the sweetness is so beautifully balanced with...

I tried the "extreme" version before this one, and was neutral. Then I tried the EDT and wow! This has all of the smoothness of the extreme, but add a brightness that really sparkles (if you...

Kind of fresh, kind of soapy, kind of spicy, kind of minty. Those are all things I enjoy, just not all in the same bottle. I don't hate it, but I don't really enjoy it either. Well worth the low...

I once heard someone describe this as smelling like you're mowing the lawn and you spilled a little gas from the mower on your clothes, so you get the smell of freshly cut grass and gasoline...

That's what I'm saying. It's such a great and "popular" fragrance...Why would they? ...If nothing else they could sell the rights to another company or something so it could continue to be produced. Mr. Roben did tell me, though, that production had been suspended temporarily...so I really hope they do start producing it again. I picked up some at my local Sephora last night but they only had the 1.7 oz. They were completely out online actually for right now. I really can't see it being discontinued, though, so I'm hoping they don't do it. I suppose I could buy New Harlem but would be paying $180 istead $45.

I know, I know...I'm a Rochas Man freak, but I just called Sephora headquarters to ask them and a specialist told me that it is of course out right now but it's not showing to be discontinuing or anything. They have more ordered actually and will be available in two weeks she said. .So even if it is being discontinued temporarily, it'll probably be awhile and by that time it may be off-hold and in production again.

Thanks bsmith001,
Thanks for letting other basenoters know and giving us advanced warning.
I have been pleading with basenotes for YEARS to introduce an extra forum for discontinued and rumoured discontinued fragrances. Every time I get ripped apart for even suggesting such an idea. Every year the industry launches well over 300 new perfumes. Not even the largest of department stores have enough shelf space to accommodate the whole range, so every year a lot of, (usually the more interesting ones) are discontinued to make room for the, (mediocre, global, mass-appeal fragrances).
All the time perfumes are being discontinued, but the fragrance houses are not shouting out " we flopped with this one - it is too individual for the mass global market so we are getting rid of it"
Which is once again where an extra forum for discontinued / rumoured discontinued fragrances on basenotes would be invaluable.
Once again thanks for warning us.

Well, I didn't know it when I posted it earlier today, but if someone wants a new bottle, I'm selling one here (pretty cheaply I think)

I do see your point, but it might be sketchy at best, there are many frags that after being "on hiatus" or being flat-out discontinued, they come back, some reformulated, some (few ones) untouched.
It would be difficult to list the on-and-off-back on again history of some of this frags.
As an unwritten rule, nowadays we think of summer frags or the like, as discontinued by next year -but then again, some houses release a "limited edition" summer scent or whatever that comes back next year with only one note (maybe even 2 ) in difference (some Carolina Herreras 212's) or completely unchanged (LancĂ´me's Miracle summer: only the box changes over the years...same this year)...
cheers!
