"A patchouli for people who don't like patchouli"- that's how one of the founders of Coquillete Paris presented Sumatera to me, at the last edition of Esxence. She also explained that the...
To me, this seems to be a deconstruction and reconstruction of what I know as Rum. Rather than typical molasses and scummings, this seems to be liquor derived from the purest of sugarcane in...
the opening reminded me so of profumo.it Don Corleone, its that same smoked ham scent, but here it lasts for ever, its quite linear after 30 minutes....its very nicely balanced, it feels like...
It's a long time since I owned Yardley's English Rose, I thought of it when Sa Majeste began to settle on my skin. Linear? Yes. A large bunch of Jean Ducher or Duchesse de Brabant to my nose and...

From a mini-decant from the Marvelous Mouse - Caron's Montaigne. MY kind of almost-aloof, soignee Grande Dame, drawing room floral with a powdery sandalwood undercurrent. "notes of jasmine, bitter orange, mandarin, mimosa, blackcurrant, coriander, vanilla and Mysore sandalwood..." (from a BN reviewer). Seamless and shimmering - NOT appropriate for tai chi but frankly, Scarlett - I don't give a damn!!
P.S. Some guys love to wear this too! Check it out!!!
Blue Amber by Montale -- this from a sample generously sent by Lightninrod.
Lovely stuff. This one, btw, can boast of the purest amber note I've ever encountered in a frag.
The vanilla in it reminds me of the vanilla in Chergui and in Musc Ravageur -- good quality, pure, sweet, creamy vanilla devoid of vanillin-esque synthetic sharpness.
