The Longest Lasting Men's Fragrance-Help requested

Hi I am new to basenotes but I am a big parfume fan.

I am about to make a buy of a perfume.

The ones I have forund are these(men's perfumes)

Calvin Klein-Be
Pacu Rabanne-Eau
Hugo Boss-Energise
Escada-Magnetism
Emanuel Ungaro-Ungaro 3
Guerlain-Vetiver

These are the ones I decided but not tested.

I want not to irrite people but break through any nose.My scent should be wildly feelable after 8 hours of time.I want a very long lasting perfume and not irritating.

The perfumes I liked are(I tell these so you could desribe me better):

CKIN2U
Paco Rabanne-XS(not black,normal XS)

The perfumes I owe now are(apart form these)

Davidoff-Cool Water
Jean Paul-Le Male

and some avon perfumes.

Now could you advice for me from these perfurmes or you would recommend something totally different.I also welcome any info upon these perfumes.

Best regards.Sorry to disturb.

Thierry Mugler's A*men easily lasts for 12 hours. Try that one.
Geir lasts a day and a half.
M7 last suprisingly long, about 12 hours on me.
Dior Homme does the same.
Annick Goutal's Sables lasted on me for three days. And yes, I did shower during those three days.

Viagra pour homme ;-)
Hugo Energise lasts more than 10 hours on me with only 2 sprays.

Ungaro III lasts about 6 hours.

Magnetism--about 5-6 hours.

P.S. Scents of Hugo Boss house always last a long time. Try Boss Bottled and Elements too, they are nice.

The marathon winners in my experience are:

Knize Ten
Ambre Sultan
Black Aoud
Miel de Bois
Yatagan
Tabac Blonde
Scent Intense
Timbuktu

Check the Basenotes directory for reviews to see if any of these appeal to you. Good luck!

Actually, if this fragrance lasts continuously for more than ten hours, you could be experiencing scent-priapism, and you should seek immediate medical attention.

Thank you all guys You are great

I did not expect to see many people trying to help me thank you all very very VERY MUCH.

There is somebody that I would like to reply.

One of you has said A'Men .That thing REALLY lastas,I know but I HATE that smell COMPLETELY

What can I say,not to my tastes I dont like spices with sharp smells.

Hugo boss is what I will certainly buy blind now,I know the smell off Hugo and Hugo 's smells are simlar to others making me a blind buy.

What do you say about CK be and Vetiver?

I know that vetiver has won the best fragrance award two times and a few times silver at basenotes.

And also CKIN2U'tester lasts a lot more than the perfume?Anybody has an idea?It lastes 2 days on me at a tester whereas the perfume I bought lasts only a few hours.

And will these perfumes make themselves felt in any environment? Are they strong?(ps.excuse me being an amateur because I am really an amateur )
CK be is a fairly light, subtle scent. (I think it actually lasts pretty well, but it's not strong -- doesn't sound like what you're looking for.)

Guerlain Vetiver has very good longevity and I enjoy it a great deal. However, its style is significantly different from the ones you identify as favorites. I'm not sure you would like it. I suggest you sample it, but I wouldn't recommend a blind buy.

Great news to me, and it would make me go back and try once more, even w'out showers in between :-). Can somebody please confirm this to a less sensitive nose? All I remember was some caramel. That was more than a year ago, probably two.

Ok then I am ordering energise and any other comments?

ck be is better then most calvin klein's..it doesn't last that long but it's pretty cheap for a 200ml bottle.

Yes it is very cheap at 200ml but I ask for quality, not quantity
post #18 of 56
Hermes Terre d'Hermes lasts so long on me I have to shower it off or I get tired of wearing it!
a lot of the so called quality fragrances can be too overpowering for me...tm a-men ,ysl m7 and some other highly rated perfumes on this forum come to mind ,if you live in turkey they aren't that ideal for that climate either..i don't find ckin2u a better quality fragrance over ck be but maybe it's just my personal preference....if you really want a long lasting quality fragrance maybe you should check out "boucheron jaipur edp" which is quite expensive or "pi by givenchy" which is cheaper but still a quality "vanilla" fragrance....hope this helps...peace.

Yeah, TdH always lasts more than 24 hours on me. So does Guerlain's Vetiver Eau Glacee and Heritage. Givenchy Gentleman also lasts around the 24 hour range as does Malle's Vétiver Extraordinaire. Almost all of my other scents are over the 10 hour mark.
Yatagan
Sables
Photo
Terre d'Hermes
One Man Show
Of the ones you first listed I would recommend Guerlain Vetiver. It lasts well.
L'eau D'Issey and Platinum Egoiste are long lasting "fresh" smells that I think might fit your requirements...

Give em a try, they are easily available at most department stores i'd imagine

Guys another strong perfume I heard about:

Xeryus Rouge.

And also one of my other favorite is paco rabanne XS(which I own and regard well.)

What do you say about xeryus rouge by givenchy?
I have sampled Xeryus rouge a couple of times and from what I remeber it had average longevity. It is a very sharp sweet smell that reminds me of a lighter M7.

Hmm many people write it has a superb longevity and a crushing smell that breaks through almost any nose-which is a good thing for me -

For me no question: The Dreamer.
The dreamer is pretty inexpensive and is rated pretty high here...i'll definitely buy it soon.

Really?? It's so weird how fragrances react differently, on me I would say it lasts the least ammount of time compared with all my other frags which is annoying because I LOVE it. How many sparys do you use? I put 2 on my neck, 1 on my shirt and 1 on my wrist.

SABLES, EAU D'HADRIEN ( EDP ) by Annick Goutal

ANTIDOTE by Viktor & Rolf
ARPEGE POR HOMME by Lanvin
and many others.....
Just discovered a new one only a day or so after I posted my list (see first page of this thread). "What is this frag," you ask? ARABIE. (Not that I necessarily wanted to smell like a molasses covered kolache all day, mind you . . .)

Took two showers to finally get all the sugar off my wrists. I'm going to throw this generous decant into my next swap a little lagniappe, so some gourmand out there in Basenotesville should be exceedingly happy and olfactorily sated.
*****
Btw, I just added Creed Aubépine-Acacia to my swap list -- check it out by clicking on the scent bottle icon to the right of my name, then clicking on the "swap list" tab.
I can only go with Aramis.

They recently dug up the skeleton of a man who died the day after its release in 1965. He was so excited about buying his bottle that he put on one spray and dropped dead from joy; the excavators commented on the skeleton's cologne.

Aramis reminds me of Christmas, and wearing a woolly jumper whilst having a beer in the snug at your local. Timeless.
Obsession - Calvin Klein is a stayer... good for the cold seasons too.
Hocam selamlar,

There is one thing that you should keep in mind, some fragrances last long, but after a few hours you don't smell it anymore. You think that it doesn't last but you are mistaken. Also they say that it depends from person to person. Some fragrances last long on some people, but not on another. I have doubts about this. I think that this is more of that your nose got used to the fragrance and doesn't sense it anymore. You should better give them a try before you buy. If you read some of the reviews on this site then you would see that some people complain that a fragrance did not last on them more than 2 hour and some would say that they had no problem with it and it did last for so many hours.

Among the ones you have asked then I would tell that Hugo and Ungaro last long, but there are sure other fragrances that last longer than these two.

I couldnt find a better stayer and projecxtor then hugo.

A smell that both projects always and lasts long is a very hard thing to find.
Despite the fact that I think many of my favorites disappear on me in just an hour or two, I can confirm:

JHL
Aramis
Sables
Yardley Gentleman
Givenchy Gentleman

All last pretty much all day, although the are quite faint by 4 PM

Kouros is quite potent and long lasting. If I apply it early at the morning, others will clearly notice it and compliment from one meter distance at 6PM (even I don't smell it myself).
PS/Paul Sebastian is even more potent and longer lasting than Kouros. It's kind of bright and ornamental almost feminine scent and I don't like it with regular clothes, but I use and like it with highly decorative chinese style silk shirt and hand painted jeans. It fits very well with decorated clothes.
Montale Royal Aoud is also very long lasting, at least 48 hours on me.
Van Gils is probably the strongest scent I have. It's the only scent I have to hold my breath while applying it and breath again after leaving the bathroom. Otherwise I get a very nasty taste on my mouth and throat. It still has a good sillage at the next morning (24 hours after application).
I don't recall seeing this on the list so far but Opium homme eau de parfum hangs on for dear life in a very good way.
Versace The Dreamer. Sample it CAREFULLY and wait at least 20 mins b4 u put ur nose near the card ha ha. I just bought it, its good ^ ^
post #51 of 56
MUST de Cartier lasts forever on me. Kouros, I have to admit, also has great longevity.

Don't fool yourelf...even frags 5 times the money will cost less than 50 cents per wear.

New York by Parfums de Nicolaï has very good longevity. There are others, but I wouldn't recommend many of them. Civet gives many fragrances their longevity and poorly produced frags end up smelling only of civet.

L'Eau de Issey.

Yes tit is not crushing noses in despair but smells very good and has a good longevity...But it is a popular smell...

When will I buy my next perfume, unknown bu sure I will

BTW:l'eau de issey seemed like a mixture of paco rabanne ultraviolet and DKNY be delicious for men to me.

Joop?Three days? lol

Xeryus Rouge I thought about, but patchouli makes me think twice...I can easily get pure patchouli essence here in Turkey and at a very good price..I dont need a perfume for it(given the fact that xeryus is a patchouli based scent lol)
Tom ford loves patchouli too.

D&G PH is really so longlasting ?

When i first tryed guerlain vetiver on my neck i was surprized that it is there after 12 hours and the next day i was blown away.
