So off topic, there is no topic...

Sorry, sorry, sorry. Not a serious Montale thread, just a bit of fun ...

So anyway, post your random thoughts about life and the universe in this thread. (And I'll edit the title eventually so it doesn't add to the frustration of those trying to do title searches on Montale...)

Perhaps you could explain what you think this quote intends. To me it seems very supercilious. Is the painter really intending to claim that young children have the ability for accurate drawing of people, animals etc and the use of perspective?

Huh? I think its just a cute kid misunderstanding thing.

Why did you ask in this thread anyway?

I don't know what the painter's intention is, dcampen. Your interpretation seems unlikely to me. I read it as someone marvelling at the naive confidence that children have.

As close as he would to the floor or a wall before landing. Funny question. Answering it ruins it I know. I would love to see that in super slow motion. Does he "turn over" at some point and land like you say or does he fly upside down for a distance and "come in for a landing" as if landing right-side-up?

Why do you ask why I ask, was my question off-topic for this thread?

OTOH, I do concur with your sig line:
' "Don’t try to be original. Be simple. Be good technically, and if there is something in you, it will come out. ” - Henri Matisse.'

But, I do like mine better:

Hmm...maybe we should just turn this thread into a discussion about our signatures & why we chose them?
