I snagged a bottle of the new Gucci by Gucci online (even though it's not released in stores yet!) - starting the month out right!

What are you buying this month?

My order of LV Vetiver (sort of) arrived today.
They actually sent the wrong thing in the box (got organic dandruff shampoo and conditioner, lol), but spoke with Abby at NLP and she was great help. She said she'll get my correct order shipped out today and have UPS pick up the wrong order.

Also, my bottle of ADP Colonia Assoluta should be arriving either today or tomorrow
--------------------------------------
ps love the new av. is that in celebration of BB day?

Today I received my Creed Himalaya. Superb! Fresh and spicy. One of the best.

So you finally have ordered Colonia Assoluta! Can you tell me the web site and its price?

Well, I've bought too many lately. In September, I bought Narcisco Rodriguez (sample), Armani City Glam (sample), L'eau Bleue D'issey (sample), Nemo (30 ml), Realm (50 ml), Michael Kors (sample), Bvlgari pour homme (second bottle - 100 ml), Eternity Limited Edition (100 ml), and on Saturday I ordered Guerlain Vetiver (50 ml), Mat Very Male (40 ml) and Preferred Stock (50 ml). No, not yet, today I ordered samples of Vera Wang, Lancome Hypnose and more Narcisco Rodriguez.

Shoot me now!

M7 Fresh. Kinda impulsive, and hopefully not redundant. But I've been trying to get if for about a year and a half.

My Serge Lutens Fumerie Turque arrived today.
Guerlain Habit Rouge EDC arrived today ... I had used up the last few drops of my decant this morning.

BTW, whats BB day? Big and Beautiful? Bear-like and Bald? Bubbly and Bodacious?
I got some Apres L'Ondee...although I wish it was the extrait and not edt.

I rarely even look at the men's section anymore...does that say something about me?
I bought Very Irresistible. I owned it, got rid of it, and now bought it again. I can't say I even like it on me. I just find it so interesting - the distinctive clashing notes. I don't even know why I did this. The bottle is one of the very best though.
just ordered Bois Du Portugal from scentiment.com
post #14 of 160
Caswell Massey's Tricorn - couldn't resist for 1 Euro. Heady stuff, but the drydown is wonderful.

From a friendly fellow basenoter, with a ton of great samples
Dali, Roy Soleil - will take time
Gai Mattiolo - another try with this
O Boticario Malbec - as a wino, err, oenophile, I had to have this. First impression is good
Peter Thomas Roth It - love the bottle, cologne is run of the mill

Crown Fougere bag of 20 samples arrived today. Happy to have found it at all

Waiting for another BN buy:
G 11 by Il Profumo - very excited about this one, sounds perfect
Goutal Eau du Sud (wrong season, I know)
Azzaro Onyx - been wanting to grab this, one of the more interesting designer frags for me.

Geez, I really don't have the money for this....Mr. Gallo?

Although, bubbly and bodacious day at Basenotes sounds like fun too. Mental note!

Thanks Rentboy! Please tell me what you think about it later, okay? I'm thinking of getting one for myself.

A back up bottle of Patou Pour Homme.

Please see my rant entitled, "I will never buy backup bottles of anything because I don't believe in it...ramble ramble..."

Oh well, it was more of a guideline than a rule really...

Have not purchased anything else in ages.

I'm itching to go on a CdG bender from Luckyscent - Sequoia, CdG Man, Avignon. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, though. A new Neiman Marcus opened last month in my neighborhood and the Creeds are calling.
Just received a 1975-edition of Guerlain Parure extrait - both yummi and beautiful! http://a677.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...ec24c46884.jpg

Purchased a 1.75 oz of M7.
Came home from Neiman's with new Gucci by Gucci. They were just putting it out at one of the counters. Lots of patchouli, a bit of chypre accord. They also say honey, guava, pear, tiaré flower (Tahitian gardenia), musk. Not too much noticeable of the top, 'cause the patchouli is cranked 'way up!

Recently I've purchased:
YSL M7 3.4oz gift set
Gucci PH 3.4oz gift set
Gucci Gucci 2.5oz
L'Artisan Charmer Trio (Merchant Loup, Navegar, L'Eau de L'Artisan)
Creed Selection Verte .5oz
TF Tobacco Vanille & Amber Absolute .25oz
PdN New York .25oz
L'Artisan Dzing! 100ml

Most of these are for fall & winter

Also wanting to pickup Black Aoud from montale direct, but looks like they don't have it on their site anymore?

-

Just recieved Tobacco Vanille, wore it to work and enjoyed it. The vanilla is extremely smooth, combined with the tobacco that blends with it flawlessly. This will definitely be a favorite of anyone who likes vanilla scents! Think of it as the vanilla remix of D&G PH.

Going to try New York by PdN tomorrow

-----

The addiction continues!!!

Egoiste Concentree 1.7oz
Heritage EDP 2.5oz
Musc Ravaguer 3.4oz
New York 1.7oz
Spiritueuse Double Vanille 1.7oz

Hoping to get a 75ml Bell Jar of Chergui soon also

Under the evil influence of Basenoters raving about scents , I went out today and bought.

At Neiman's, I decided to get Creed Royal Delight, based on something I read on the board. I tried it on paper, then on my skin. Wow! The leather is really great with the citrus and jasmine; I got the leather right away, and it slowly creeps up more and more until it balances the rest of the notes. This would be great for a special evening out, or for cooler weather and nighttime generally. The leather is not overpowering, but it's just a little suede-like (not completely, just a hint in that direction).

Then I popped over to Barneys (as if I hadn't done enough damage) and tried L'Eau d'Hiver. Bergamot, angelica, iris, honey, hawthorn, jasmine, heliotrope, white musc. It manages not to be cloying, in spite of the honey and heliotrope, which can really take over if not tamed and balanced. This manages to retain an aura of freshness, even into the drydown. The sweetness seems to be from the jasmine, honey and heliotrope; yet the green hawthorn and angelica do wonders for keeping it bright. Really like this one. I thought the 10% concentration would be a bit light, but I think any more in the direction of EdP strength would have made this too heavy. I get the Eau Chaude idea: sort of cologne-y, but with some warm undercurrents.

Pleased with both these purchases. As we get on toward the cooler weather, these will both be very nice and comforting!

Nothing liquid this time, but instead a book that got some pretty raving reviews: The Scent Trail by Celia Lyttelton. Can't wait to follow her on her journey through the fragrant world.

Nordstrom had Narciso Rodriguez For Him, so I broke down and got a 50 ml. bottle. Not the best thing I ever smelled, but not bad, either. I like the fresh bit in the top.

Thé pour un Eté? I just found the Charmer Trio kit online an hour ago and it has L’Eau de l’Artisan instead of Thé pour un Eté. http://artisanparfumeur.us/store/cha...rio-p-137.html

Where did you find yours? I ask only because I'm considering putting this on my Christmas list since recently discovering that the CO Bigelow at Easton in Columbus carries a bunch of L'Artisan and i've liked what i've sampled so far. I prefer the L’Eau de l’Artisan to the Thé pour un Eté and would like to point people in the right direction should someone be so kind as to buy it for me.

Edit: oh, and to keep on topic... well, haven't purchased anything yet this month but did happen upon some perfumes left behind by one of my girlfriends old roommates. Found Cerruti Image, Dior Tendre Poison and Poision Espirit de Perfume. Now that i've sampled it, I swear my grandmother wears Poison...

After the Citrus thread bought 5mL of Balle de Match from Perfumed Court..

Saw the banner thing about Floris and have bid on a bottle (starting is $85 for 100mL, shipping ~$12) don't know if I'll get one. At 3 hrs remaining, many bottles were not bid upon, so I may get it at the $85 starting bid.

Fell for Guerlain Vetiver. I really was lacking a vetiver in my collection, and now that I sprayed it on again, I'm convinced that it's an awesome scent.

Unforgivable....

After buying MI and testing Wall street i had to buy this.

Today, to celebrate my birthday, my spouse and I wandered downtown and did some window shopping, looking around at jewelry, expensive clothes, shoes, and other things we could not afford. We happened into Gump's, an old San Francisco landmark department store that I haven't visited in quite a while.

The last time I was there, I didn't even realize that they carried scents, but this time I wandered into the fragrance area, and almost right away, I saw Floris JF on a shelf with a tester. I sprayed a little on my hand, and a few minutes later I was walking out with it.

This is a pretty old-fashioned scent; citrus, wormwood (the clincher), cypress, amber, and some other exotic woods. I instantly felt transported back to my childhood and the scents my grandfather used to wear. Nostalgia in a bottle... Who could resist? Not a bad price either, at USD45 plus tax.

Happy Birthday JaimeB!

I was just in Gumps this past weekend, admiring Floris JF.

You know, there's one thing about their fragrance display that bugs me: the bottom shelf is frosted glass illuminated by light from below. All the bottles sitting on that shelf are quite warm to the touch. Can't be good for the fragrances (the boxed, for-sale stuff sits there too). But not to worry, JF was up on a higher shelf. Enjoy!

The bottle is beeeyooootiful. I actually loved the bottle better than the juice. But sometimes Fendi scents and my skin don't mix.

Versace's Black Jeans
Paloma Picasso's Minotaure

and for her,
Nocturnes by Caron.

I can't wait to smell how everything turns out.

Bad experience? I have been looking for good source for LV fragrances. Sounds like you may have found one to avoid.
