Choice of Poison (alcoholic beverage) to go with a fragrance?

Just wondering if anyone has a particular beverage of choice to accompany a fragrance they are wearing...

Aside from my fondness of fragrances I have a little collection of Single Malt Whiskies that I enjoy on those relaxing (ie lonely *sniff*) evenings alone at home...

I was looking at my humble collection of single malts and imagined that the massive peat smoke, burned vanilla and medicinal qualities of a Lagavulin 16yo Islay Malt would be a perfect partner in crime with say the Bvlgari Black or even M7...

Am I the only one who likes to spoil the tongue and the nose at the same time?

Micheal Kors and Cognac anyone?
Burberry London and a Red Wine?
Terre D'Hermes and Grey Goose Orange?

Escada pour Homme and a snifter of fine brandy
Bogart pour Homme and a cup of spiked hot chocolate
Pomegranate Noir and a glass of mulled wine
A*men and a glass of rotgut whiskey infused with road tar and sprinkled with charred cocoa powder

Well,

last night while I had Lutens Santal de Mysore on my left wrist, Ambre Sultan on my right, Villoresi Spezie on my arm, Jackson Brown on my stereo and Monday Night Football on TV (muted), I has a glass of 2005 Geyser Peak Chardonnay.

What an evening!

The smoke and peatiness of Cumming makes me think it would be perfect with Ardbeg Ten, which has a strong pallate of peat and charcoal, or any Islay Single Malt really.

I picture Absinthe to be a perfect compliment to Fou d'Absinthe (duh ) and Yatagan.

DKNY Be Delicious (Femme) & a nice tall Hendricks and tonic. That's my idea of cucumber heaven...

I'd probably prefer a glass of Laphroaig 15yo with Bulgari Black, though.

Givenchy Pi with Bailey's Irish Creme

This is my earlier review of EDITION--appropriate for this thread!

When this was launched in 1984, Dunhill had the launch party at the Ritz in London. They approached Bob, the celebrated mixologist at the Ritz bar, to create a cocktail that tasted the way this cologne smells--and thus the Dunhill cocktail was born. For a few years it was listed on the bar menu at the Ritz and you can still order it, which is guaranteed to bring Bob out to see who the "in the know" drinker is. Edition is a personal favorite of mine, the scent I chose to wear on my wedding day. Bob shared the recipe me and here it is--splash on some Edition, mix up one of these and enjoy!

THE RITZ DUNHILL

5/10 dry white wine
1/10 Cointreau
2/10 creme de banana
2/10 Cinzano Bianco

Combine all ingredients and shake, serve on the rocks.

Repeat as needed.

Hugh Parsons Blue (Traditional) always reminds me of gin and tonic. Maybe it's the juniper; but I guess I should order the drink next time I'm wearing the fragrance. What a novel idea!

I made this last night (strangely, had all the ingredients at hand). Bob is a genius.

I just got a sample of DK Men...:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: When I spritzed it..Immediately what I smelled was this strong 'scotch' smell. It levels out to an amazing scent-I need some more....HA. So with this I would lay back with a nice expensive scotch....sipping it slowly.....oh yeah....

Fragrance On,

Otto

Woodford Reserve and Le Dandy by D'Orsay is a great combo I enjoy. "Classy'

Gentlemen's Jack with Fougere Begale by Parfums d'Empire is fun. "Laid Back"
