Jardin de Sur Nil vs Jarden en Mediterrenee

I own both and dammit if they both don't piss me off. Love the top notes of Sur Nil; strong melon sweetness but it seems to fade into something transparent. Mediterrenee, on the other hand, starts harsh, but settles into a smooth fig and incense? Both are pieces of art in my mind and I can pull off each without my usual anxiety of them being unisex.

Which do you prefer over the other and why? Or do you like/dislike both?

Like both. A lot.

I love both, but prefer Mediterrenee over Nil

Mediterrenee is simply amazing. It's got this warmth, richness and craftmanship to it that really sold me on Ellena. Now I'm a big fan, but that was the first frag I got that I said "who could've assembled something so well?" All the pieces/notes/accords fit together so well. Yes the opening is strong, but I actually reall *like* that strength.

summary: I LIKE PERFUME AND THIS SMELLS GOOD.

Have a sample of the first that I am nursing since I love it so much. It's a beautiful scent.
The second is still in my future

I agree with the craftsmanship of JeM; its very well put together. And the harshness does go away after a few minutes.

I like Mediteranee (or whatev)

I bought a big bottle of it for my aunt last christmas and she claims to love it. If I go over there and it's still full, I'm reposessing it!

Just barely masculine enough, but smells so good and natural, like raw earth. Ok I just decided I need this. damn it.

I prefer Nil...I like the grapefruit-y opening. Mediteranee is too dominated by a fig-note for me.:bounce:

I adore Mederannee from start to finish. I always get compliments on it, every single time practically. "You smell amazing!!" I've heard more than once with JM. Jardin Sur le Nil is nice, but it doesn't work on me at all - "what smells like bug spray?" is a comment I've heard. The grapefruit note does smell like a citronella related insect repellant to me.
