Hi everyone, it's been since April 2006 that I joined this splendid web site. At that time I had about 3-4 bottles, and only one of them was bought in 2005, while the rest were purchased 5-6 years ago. From April 2006 - Oct 2007, it's exactly 1.5 years. Now I have 105 bottles as you can see in my wardrobe, but there are other scents which aren't available in the directory so I couldn't add them. I actually have about 115 bottles.
115 bottles in 18 months (about 6.38 bottles/month), and still excluding sample vials and minis, do you think I'm fine or I'm mad? Everyone must know the answer.
Arpege, Michael Kors, and Perry Ellis M are on the way to me. And surely before the end of 2007 I would eventually order at least 3 more scents, which could be Bvlgari Soir, Paul Smith Story and Zino.
I have recently revealed this secret to a friend, and I got a shocking look on his face. "What? More than a hundred bottles? You must be rich, lock your door well tonight or I'll steal your money." In my country, designer fragrance is expensive compared with our living cost. I am not that rich, but just know the buying source. I told my friend that I didn't buy them from the shopping mall. Some bottles cost me less than $15, and I wouldn't buy if there is no discount up to 30%. I just find their 'mark up' too high, too unacceptable.
One thing I can notice from people who meet me every day is that they start using fragrance, although it ended up to be Axe, Rexona, and some cheapies. They never asked me what I am wearing, but I can catch their reaction to my SotD, which is that they would stay around me when they should have gone to do something else. Some of them even inhaled deeply and noisily, and I am so certain that they inhaled my SotD to invigorate their lungs. At least, I feel that I have been making people a bit happier. As we know, fragrance can uplift our mood, and people seem to be delighted when they catch the whiff of my SotD. (I am not a heavy frag wearer, only 3 sprays max.)
My family used to act strangely when I first started wearing frag every single day. After a few months, they stopped reacting as if I was a 'walking perfume factory'. It is nice they get used to it, and I feel quite comfortable wearing frag indoors.
Today, someone complimented on my SotD, and after being asked, I told her it is Michael Kors.
Well, I might have gone too far now. I wouldn't complain a word that this web site makes my wallet much lighter. I would like to thank the builder for creating this web site which unites us 'scent maniac' together to share thoughts and reveal secrets of our loving scents. I consider 'fragrance' as one of the best human creations, and not inferior to music when we talk about things that can change our feelings. Fragrance makes me happy not less than what good music helps me forget troubles and uplift my spirit when it's down.
Perfume, perfume, every where
And one man stops to think
And wonders what he should wear
To get rid of his stink!
