Favourite Restaurants where you live or anywhere.

Hello Family,

Well I would have to say that restaurants are definelty one of my passions and I could probably call a hobby. Since early childhood I was encouraged to try ethnic and other cuisines. Here are a few of my fav's.

Bermuda:

1. Ascots - This is a high end restaurant serving meats and seafood. More on the Nouvelle Cuisine line.

2. Newport Room - This eatery is very expensive but has amazing food and unmatched service not seen anywhere by me.

3. Aqua Seaside Restaurant - Another high end restaurant.

4. The Rotisserie Grill - This is an eatery resembling Boston Market. Chicken melts in your mouth. Not fussed about the sides though.

5. Yashi Sushi Bar - What can I say about sushi...Yummy. I have a few friends who join me in this dining experience.

New York:

Montein Thai Cusine - Amazing food at reasonable prices.
Devi - Indian
L'Ecole - Restaurant of the French Culinary Institute
Tabla - Indian
Kittichai - Thai - You gotta check this place out..especially for an evening.

London

Blue Elephant Thai
The Cinnamon Club - Indian Haute Cuisine
Woodlands Piccadilly - Vegetarian Indian - They serve a Pistachio Milkshake here that is like nothing I have ever tasted before. I usually visit here hours after I land in London.

Well those are a few that I hang out in..

What are your favourite restaurants?

I am a lover of Southern(US) cuisine. I have found the epitome of such in The Bulloch House: http://thebullochhouse.com/ . Over my 68+ years, I have eaten a lot of Southern food. I have eaten home-cooked meals and 'restaurant' meals and have never found any of them to equal the food found at that restaurant.

You are correct. I haven't been to Bones but I understand it's the best steakhouse in the area. My fine dining experiences lean more towards Thai, Indian, Japanse (sushi), Persian, Italian, and Southwestern cuisine. When the mood strikes for a medium rare NY strip, I'll make it to Bones.

Have you been to Johnny Ray's or Little Savannah? I think they're in your neck of the woods.

Caffe Della Stella - San Francisco. A sumptious Italian restaurant that sadly doesn't exist anymore.

Nopalitos - Sacramento. One of the best Tex-Mex breakfasts ever.

Pomegranate - Toronto. Some very nice Persian/Irani food. (...though home is much better )

Bang San Thai - San Francisco. Best Thai ever.

Chutney's - San Francisco. A wonderfully delicious (and chaotic) Pakistani restaurant.

Al Baik - Saudi Arabia. Those who know, know...

Cafe de Frida - San Luis Potosi, Mexico. A colourful and altogether fantastic restaurant inspired by Frida Kahlo.

Le Papillon - Toronto. French Canadian cuisine. If you only go for the Pouding Chômeur, you will not be disappointed.

I've always thought Dominos (yes Dominos) has the best wings. Their wings are huge, BAKED - not fried, and they use the original Frank's RedHot sauce (no butter or other additional ingredients). Hooter's wings are good but incredibly greasy, tiny, and breaded ("real" wings are not breaded, of course they're not baked either).

Anyway, on with my recs in the Ft. Lauderdale area:

Ft. Laud.
Ruth's Chris steakhouse - have to mention this since everybody says they have the best steaks in Ft. Laud. (not cheap either) but I've never been there personally

Thai On The Beach - 2nd story of a building right on the beach; great atmosphere, great view of the ocean and strip; slightly higher than average prices but the food is excellent

Plantation -
Three Guys From Italy Restaurant - excellent gourmet pizza

Macaroni Grill - large varied menu

Pizza Loft - large italian menu, great service, casual dining atmosphere & prices, *you MUST try their garlic rolls*

Davie -
Scruby's BBQ - fall-off-the-bone chicken, beef, pork dishes; 5 different BBQ sauces at each table; they serve a sweet potato with a cinnamon/sugar/butter spread that is more like a dessert than a dinner item; this place is ALWAYS packed for lunch and dinner; also one in Pembroke Pines

Emerald Thai - small authentic thai restaurant which has won local awards for it's food

A Thai - great Thai tea, good prices, best for take-out as the eat-in facilities are not that great

Azteca Real Mexican Restaurant - authentic mexican & southwestern food; mariachi band walks around and plays in the evening; this is one of the few mexican restaurants that has been able to survive in the area

Longhorn steakhouse - best steaks i've ever had; be sure to try their fried cheesecake if you're into desserts

I never get the breaded wings, I always get mine "naked." I will OCCASIONALLY get a wing sammich, which is breaded, though. I love Hooter's 911 sauce. I'll have to try Dominos wings sometime. I don't ever recall having them.

Here in Wichita, I like:

Ya Ya's Euro Bistro (interesting combos, european influenced)
Chelsea's (Mediterranean influenced)
Sumo (Japanese steak house + sushi)
Steak and Sirloin (best steaks EVER + melt-in-your-mouth prime rib)
Pizza Hut (I know, I know ... but Pizza Hut WAS invented here in Wichita)
the Artichoke (for homemade sandwhiches; my favorite: the Seester- corned beef, jalapenos, cream cheese, mustard on an onion roll)
