Pronunciation

I'm about to make a prize prat out of myself, but it has to be done. I'd like to know how Infusion D'iris should be pronounced. If I 'think' the name with a French accent, it comes out like this: AHNFOOZHON DEEREE.

Is that how you would say it? Or should it be said as an English person would say it (in which case it sounds stupid). I don't want to come across all pretentious when people ask about this divine fragrance, but at the same time I'm a bit tired of saying "oh, it's the new Prada Iris perfume" which is my cheat's way of getting round it.

Seriously folks, this perfume is stunning. I'm absolutely obsessed with it. It's the dry-down. It's the sexiest smell ever.

You're almost there with the French pronunciation - ahnfoozion d'earees (the s is pronounced in this case, although usually a final s isn't)
I personally couldn't bring myself to ask for infewsion direiss (english) but that's just me!
Tried this one last week and quite liked it.

I usually pronounce them in French, and then quickly Anglicize them because people look at me like I'm a Martian.

It's the Martian thing I'm wary of. Thanks for the tips folks. I'm going to have to practice!

Fabulous! Weird that the 's' at the end is sounded. I've always been taught not to do that unless the word ends in 'e'. All the same, it's really helpful. Thanks!

Think of your correct French pronunciation as educational....you're sharing information for the betterment of mankind......

After all, most of us can't pronounce the "tle" thing in English (get them on "gentle" or "little" which generally end up "jenh-uhl" and "li-uhl")

So - what's a li-uhl "Eee-rees" from a Martian!!!
