Good morning ine, CoCo and tigs and everybody else as you join

I will be wearing Escapades/Lily-Oh! Violette et le Gantier today, a lovely interpretation of the smoothest leather backed up by non-candied violets. I think I've got to get me a full bottle very soon.

I've seen you writing about Escapades last week, and I can't find information about it. It looks so good, could you please explain where I can find these fragrances and read about it?

Good morning all - still dark here - package of 8 SL decants in front of me that arrived yesterday - as yet unsniffed. Deciding which to try first is hard. But since I asked about datura scents previously - I think I will start off my testing with Datura Noir.

Totally ridiculous, perhaps-
But I've been hankering for Orchidee Blanche-
Creamy as it is.
So, there it is !

Have a great day, all...

From the super--generous KBE John Varvatos - a creamy, herbed complex beauty that shimmers from moment to moment, changing kaleidoscopically.

No wonder! Look at these notes:

* Top Notes
* Medjool, Date Fruit, Mediterranean Herbs, West Indian Tamarind Tree Leaves,

Middle Notes
* Coriander Seed Templar, Clary Sage Flower, Indian Ajowan,

Base Notes
* Auramber, Vanilla CO2, Balsams, Eaglewood, Vanilla, Black Leather

I feel an investment coming on!!

Medjool? Tamarind Tree Leaves? Indian Ajowan? Auramber? Eaglewood?
What strange notes. How do they smell to you?
Ajowan seeds are little black things that smell pungent, and are used in cooking.
Tamarind fruit I am familiar with, but not the leaves.
Medjool, aruamber, and eaglewood have me stumped.

I have applied Diorella!
How lovely! First time user, here.
Thanks Quarry.
I smell a similarity to Parfum de Therese and Cristalle here, due to the peach and vetiver.
But I think the emphasis on the honeysuckle makes it unique.
I applied some to my dear mother's wrist, and she was instantly pleased. She has been expressing her disappointment in the new perfumes, saying they all smell like "earth" and "celery" lately, asking where all the florals have gone.

The beautiful TABAC BLOND for me today. I also wore it to bed last nite. Yum!

Scent clone of Coconut: Black Orchid dupe from The Fragrance Shop--I think it's better than the original.

Medjool = Dates, and the most buttery of dates. Drooling. But I found Varvatos too much, too strong, too masculine. Still, those dates!

Divine L'Inspiratrice.

Strong scent (like the others I've tried in this line). Thank goodness for small sample bottles with dabbers.

And may I add:
Eaglewood - Asian tree with fragrant resinous wood.
Ajowan - Indian Spice from the bishop's weed plant.
Auramber - No information?

Chinatown again.....I am having a serious craving for it, must be the change in the weather

Courreges Empreinte today. Chypres are my favorite category in autumn. Can't believe the weather is still so hot.

Fancy names for the notes? We got them! Will they make me want to add on about 10 years in order to totally comply? Don't think so! Will they also make the fragrance deep, rich and intoxicating? Depends on their balance.

Interesting reactions to Johnny V!!The opening burst is vibrant and sort of citrusy (that's prolly the tamarind) - there's a hint of creamy amber and also of dates (the fruit - I am not familiar with the flower) It dries down to an herby vanilla and is overall like a warm wind off the desert (experienced by me only in Southern California)

I like "masculine" (herbaceous, woodsy - segueing into deep throated oriental) frags - they are refreshing on me, and assertive. There's a sense of quiet command and vitality to them that I like to have aorund me. KBE has introduced me to a couple of knockouts (this being one of them) Montana Parfum d'Homme is another - and I've always loved Habit Rouge in the EDT.

So sue me.

I've been testing out Belle en Rykiel by Sonia Rykiel and decided to give it the full body test today. I think I may like this one. It seems to be drying down nicely. I kind of reminds me of a much lighter Black Orchid. It also smells similar to Bagdley Mischka, but with a little more sweetness to it. This is perfect for me as a winter frag. I just might have to get a bottle. I keep smellin myself..........I smell good!!!!

Wore Madame X today. This one really morphs around on me. Sometimes I hate it, sometimes I love it, and usually I both hate and love it depending on it's stage of development. However, when I love it I really love it.
