Name a fragrance you own, but no other Basenoter does... - Page 5

It doesn't have to be something fancy, right? Anyone has anything from Jeanne Arthes? None of their scents are listed in the directory. I've got the Sultan for Men.

I have a bottle of Floris's Tantivy (Noel Coward's favorite). I wish I had some of their scent called New Mown Hay.....

I betcha no-one here owns my one-euro Hanky musk oil
Though of course if we're counting random Egyptian or Indian musk oils, then yes, I'm in good company.

I received the "Superstar" eau de toilette from yoox.com...

Yikes.

The topic could be somehow extended to : show an unusual packaging of your totally usual cologne (since I run out of special items). But this bottle of Aqva Marine looks classy...

Bourbon French Parfums Eleftorea (bought in New Orleans)

Profumo.it/AbdesSalaam Attar Profumo's Muschio di Quercia (Oak Moss) Shermanirving shares my good taste.

Copelia EdP. It's supposed to be a women's frag, but it's at least unisex, strong on anise with some spice accents. And another one is Figue et Vanille EdT by Planter's. It's very natural and seems to be just a blend of fig and vanilla, almost like a Fig Newton.
212 on Ice.. definitely not fancy or pricey but I enjoy it nonetheless.. and I guess that's what really matters isn't it?
I've yet to see anyone mention Greenergy by Givenchy.

Sorry friend I have the Oakmoss.

I recently bought a bottle of Chanel Pour Monsieur Cologne from the 70s. The ebay seller had two, so someone out there bought the other. It smells great.

Does anyone else have Guerlain Eau de Verviene? Again, a seller had a a few bottles and I'm pretty sure TPC bought one, but a few more bottles sold a couple months ago.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only BNer to own the super exclusive Millesime Imperial by Creed. Unfortunately it's just so darn hard to come by I treasure my bottle like liquid gold....
It's not a big wowzer, but I haven't seen anyone with it. I loved it back in the early 80's when I was in the Navy. Jovan Grass Oil. Still smells great, but I'm just not into it with all my other great frags post-BN.

I may be the first person to have purchased the newly-released Mariner, by Neil Morris. It's gorgeous!

I also won a bottle of Gump's Baroque Pearl. Haven't tried it yet. Sounds like it will be pretty, but maybe not exciting.

...

I owned it and i absolutely detested it. Gave it to a friend who was crazy about Eclat d'Arpege, she went crazy for Riviera Palace also, thank heavens.

I used to own everything from L'Artisan, don't even ask why i was so foolish and frivolous, and the only one i really ever liked was L'eau des Merveilleuses, which has been discontinued for ages. Still have L'eau d'Ambre for sale on my sale thread, anyone looking...anyone?

Hello and welcome. Do you have any clue who made de Lys? It is so delicious and i love all the gold leaf design on the bottle, not to mention the stork emblem. Any info you have would be appreciated.

Hi and thank you. I made a mistake, I have Lys Bleu, which is also on your list and not de Lys or Delys as I have also seen it written. There was a Delys by Delys, although I can't find anything about it. I need to look through all my old collection again because I thought that I had it at one time, although my bottle didn't have a stork which I have seen in pictures. There was also a Delys by Alphonse Gravier.

So the first time I went out vintage fragrance hunting, I found a couple minis of stuff I can barely find anything about on the internets. The most I could find on one was that it's for sale on a minis website, and I found absolutely nothing on the other, but it looks like it came in a set like this (totally looks like tourist-trap shop fodder, right?).

Anyway, one is called Croyance by Charles V. It's bright green and smells sweet and limey. The other is Fantaisie by Chateau de Paris. It's oriental and animalic, a little in the Bal a Versailles vein.

I also have, from the same excursion, part of a lil bottle from a set of three sold exclusively at Sears in the 1950's called Private Life by Lyric. The label was mostly worn off and all I could make out was Lyric. Not knowing Amouage Lyric is a 2008 inception, I thought I was getting vintage Lyric for $2.

The newest additions to my collection:
Paul Smith Sunshine Edition and
Lacoste Eau De Sport / EDT Viviviante (1994) -not to be confused with Jean Patou's creation.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2610/...59335d5586.jpg

Paul Smith himself says that "a pefume should always whispers, never shout" so that the original Paul Smith Man is veeeery fleeting and light.Since Sunshine is (you already guess it ) a summer edition, one should expect this one to be even lighter/watered down.Well,it seems it is not the case:This fuity and then slightly spicy scent is bright and contemporary ,with decent lasting power. Not passable, not simply good but one of the best summer scents I own .

Regarding Lacoste Eau de Sport (not listed in the Basenotes Directory by the way),although it was launched ten years after the Lacoste Original, it carries a lot of similarities compared to the latter...Possibly it is a rare item ,since a search in ebay did not yield any result, not for Lacoste's,neither for Patou's scents.
Disco, how much did you get the Paul Smith for? Don't want to rain on any of the excitement of a rare find like that, but since it seemed really interesting, I went on a search and found it elsewhere. Paul Smith's own website sells it for $85.

Hi there!
Paul Smith's own website sells it for 24 GB Pounds
http://www.paulsmith.co.uk/paul-smit...roductId=16054

which is less than HALF of this amount!Any rational explanation?
My bottle was a sealed one, bought on ebay, for about 20 Euros, shipped.

Hey! Not fair at all. That is an INCREDIBLE price discrepancy there. I wonder why? Is it good stuff?

I found this little sleeper called "Green Irish Tweed" from a company called "Creed." Anyone heard of it?

But seriously,
I'm not actually sure I'd have any that nobody else has. The only one that comes to mind:

Perfumerie Generale - Yuzu Ab Irato. I absolutely love this scent, but nobody ever talks about it here!
Kingdom Parfum Concentration
Bandit Pour Homme EdP Concentration

Live Jazz, sorry to say, I have a 10ml miniature of Yuzu Ab Irato, good frag - citrusy, minty and herbaceous all at the same time, with a strong tart note to begin

Now wait a second! Everytime mint is brought up or PG fragrances, I'm always shouting it's praises. I don't own it, but I love it, and talk about it often.

Kolniche Jucten- Regence

This one is only sold a few places in the country and not well known....

Brilliant stuff..

I guess I had been MIA for awhile. There could have been a Yuzu Ab Irato Basenotes craze, for all I know, and I probably wouldn't know about it!

No man, you're basically right. I thought I was the only one mentioning it, but it looks like there is another supporter! It's really good stuff, that I'm surprised isn't much more talked about here.

Ok ok, how about this one:

"Herban Cowboy"

What a great name!! I bought it at Whole Foods about 5 years ago. Haven't seen it lately and I haven't worn it in ages...as I recall, it starts with a nice smoky/spicy top and drys down to a relatively bland vanilla/amber scent.
