Cheap & cheerful orange blossom ideas...

Ladies/gents,

Christmas is coming (yuck...I'm such a scrooge). Can anyone recommend a nice & inexpensive orange blossom scent? I'm looking for my roomie, and we have a $50 limit (note I'm in Canada, so $20 shipping kills it). She really likes my Parfums D'Ailleurs et Fleurs by The Different Company, and Castille by Penhaligon's, but they blow the budget.

Any ideas?

That's easy: Jo Malone's Orange Blossom Cologne is $50 for a 30 ml bottle online here or at Neimans. Don't let the 'water lily' note scare you - this scent is all about orange blossom. If you buy this online, Jo Malone ships with very classy and chic gift wrap and packaging.

Its no doubt $75 here in Canada though.

Drat - that sucks...

Then my second recommendation would be 24, Faubourg by Hermes. Gorgeous orange blossom prominent scent.

Thanks! I'll check them both out to confirm prices.

Adding: 24 Faubourg Eau Delicate is a lighter, sheerer version that is also very beautiful with lots of orange blossom, if you are looking for something not so heavy along the lines of the Different Company scents. Can be easily found at Scentiments or other discounters.

You could get her a "bouquet" of samples for under $50 and arrange them in a beautiful, inexpensive container (a glass floral frog is kind of nice). You're more likely to find something she'll like that way.

ThePerfumedCourt.com lets you organize your shopping by a single note: here's the link for Orange Blossom.

Of course you probably already know The Perfume Shoppe in Canada sells samples.

The Scented Monkey offers a lot of mainstream fragrances as samples.

Thanks all for the suggestions...I'm sure everyone can sympathize with a woman who's difficult to buy for.

Something not readily available in the USA, but obtainable in Canada and Europe:
Yves Rocher Pur Desir de Fleur d'Orange -- 60ml for about 25 dollars. It is not bad at all, and cheerful all right. And for the price one can spritz as much as their noses desire.

L'Occitane makes a nice orange flower, turns somewhat bitter on my skin, but on right person I can imagine it can be very beautiful.

Fragonard do a very nice Fleur d'Oranger that isn't too expensive.
Try the Fragonard site.

Azahar by Madini.
$25 for 6 ml pure parfum oil with a simple roll-on bottle.
Powerful, long-lasting, and supposedly natural.
Bright, clean, sweet, almost woody.
Inexpensive, at 5 samples for $10.
Try Hanane and Kamary, too for more Florals.
Try Ambargris and Musk Gazelle for Orientals.

My cheap but cheerful orange blossom scents are:

TBS Neroli Jasmine
Yardley Orange Blossom
Jo Malone Orange Blossom - buy the bath oil (it works as perfume oil)

Oh I just have to 2nd
The Body Shop
Neroli Jasmin Eau de Toilette

also, maybe you want to try
Lost Eau de Parfum by
Crabtree & Evelyn

I'll have to say Yardley's Orange Blossom (as moondeva said) and also i will add Adolfo Dominguez's Azahar, wich might be one of the "happiest" orange blossoms around.

Love the Jo Malone!

Also, Côté Bastide Fleur d'Oranger, Coty Wild Orange Blossom, and Clementine perfume oil.

Pre de Provence Orange Flower is so fresh and cheerful, that's the one I like wearing. Love their other single note fragrances and soaps, too. This line smells very natural. The EDT is $18 at beautyhabit.com. They have a 25% discount code going, too! There are other websites who have a larger selection.
