What to wear to the Nutcracker Gala tonight...

It's pretty much black-tie, but I don't own a tuxedo, so I'll be wearing a charcoal suit. The night will include dinner, a ballet performance, "cocktail time", etc...

I don't go to these kind of things as much as I'd like to, but tonight I get to select from my "nicer" fragrances...

What would you wear?

Jaipur
Bois d'Argent
Dior Homme
Baie de Genievre
Bois du Portugal
MIllesime Imperial
Royal Delight
Selection Verte
Armani Code
Terre d'Hermes
Hugh Parson's yellow
Tea for Two
Blenheim Bouquet
Endymion

If my Feuille Verte arrives in the mail today, I'm pretty sure I'll go with that...

I could also go with Daim Blonde, but thats a sample.

Starts in 5 hours...cast your votes!

I would suggest Blenheim bouquet or Jaipur. To me they both seem a bit more for formal and evening wear. Not that you couldn't wear them just any old time.

Have fun

I think my top picks so far are

Jaipur
BdP
Blenheim
Tea for Two
Daim Blonde
Endymion
Royal Deligh......ah who the hell am I kidding?! They're all good!

Bois du Portugal is a gentleman's fragrance to the nth degree. It was made for formal events like you're attending (my opinion).

Bois du Portugal, or, if you feel a bit more adventurous, Royal Delight.

Jaïpur Homme by Boucheron - A perfect blend of clean, elegant and slightly exotic.

I'd look for whatever has a touch of gingerbread.

I was actually really considering the Royal Delight as well...

Where Bois du Portugal would be perfect, Royal Delight has the unisex thing going, and at a ballet gala, I'm thinking it might be spot-on...

Ok, now I'm REALLY screwed...

Guess who just showed up in the mail?

Feuille Verte.

I'd do bad things for a whole flacon of this. Actually, one flacon wouldn't even be enough. I'd buy about ten flacons of this if I could. I'm pretty sure Creed created this fragrance for me, to remind me of dreams I had when I was younger. I doubt anyone likes this scent more than I do.

jaipur then you will smell like a big queen at the ballet - well, kinda true but the suggestion is serious

I was lucky enought to try a sample of Feuille Verte (courtesy of ZZ), and it is wonderful, but I wouldn't say it is formal or Nutcracker-like. I'd save it for being the best smelling guy in dance class next week.

I agree, I'm just really excited about the FV! And this IS a special occasion!

I DO want my entire life to smell like Feuille Verte. However, until I get a bunch more...unfortunately dance class isn't worthy! I usually rock out the Racquet's for just about anything athletic.

..........I just got up and treated myself to another spritz of FV.
This stuff is really really just ME! I have SO arrived.

A "Big queen", huh?

Well, I guess that rules out Jaipur, doesn't it? In fact, I guess I now must ask myself, "Do I ever really want to smell like a "Big Queen"?

I'm glad you found "your scent" . That must be really neat when that happens.

So, if you've deemed dance class as not worthy of FV...I'd definitely echo the suggestions of Jaipur. That stuff is class & appeal in a bottle, despite what supermarky says. Plus, I agree it's definitely the right time of year for Jaipur.

Well,

I would suggest the MI myself.......

Everybody is going to be wearing suit w/coat, dress, etc, alot of people close to each other, probably warm inside, drinking, everyone getting "warm"........

Jaipur ... you will be the hottest guy there. Trust me on this ...

Bois d'Argent would fill the bill perfectly IMO

If it were me I would rock BdP or Royal Delight (got a decant from an honorable member and LOVE it) I reckon the RD is a little fresher and perhaps female friendly (not that BdP is not of course).

Have a good night mate.

I would go for Baie de Genièvre.
