I picked the Chanel, but I also like Shalimar as well and I think it would be a great choice.

Tough call between Tabac Blond and Mitsouko, but since I was once told I smelled like my mother-in-law when wearing Mitsouko, I'll go with the Caron.

I haven't worn too many women's scents, but I did wear Mitsouko this weekend and loved it. That gets my vote.

I picked Bandit; I consider this a unisex frag and wouldn't lift an eyebrow if I sniffed it on a man. My first impulse was to vote for Mitsouko, and I do think it would be very easy for men to wear (and I love it too).

I hear Chanel No. 5 is wearable for men. Any of you guys try it?

Yes, smells very good and if by any other name would be very wearable. However, if any perfume is instantly recognizable; it will have to be No.5. I'd love to wear it everyday but it's one thing to say "doesn't matter what anyone else thinks" it's completely different when it comes to doing it. I could pull off some real stinkers (Jicky, Paloma Picasso, Yatagan...) but Chanel No.5 is too much for public.

Totally understandable, lasta, and I could imagine the discomfort if someone asked what it is you are wearing, but such a shame it can only be enjoyed in private. It's such a lovely scent.

This subject of crossing gender barriers of non-unisex scents fascinates me. I was loathe to consider any scent gender-based...until I tried Kouros *cough* I got some very odd looks, and some scrunched noses.

It's purely in the name this time. I have worn samples of Opium, Shalimar, even Chanel Chance but No.5 is in it's own league. As a matter of fact, I'm wearing Ginger Musk right now.

I can totally see Shalimar and Opium working on a man. Delicious, really.

and as you mentioned before, Jicky would be a good one too, though I think of it as a unisex scent; I'm not sure how Guerlain markets it.

I wore No.5 out in public for the first time not too long ago... I love the scent at home (I find it very mellow and relaxing), and I thought, hey why not - I'm out for the evening for fun anyways. I won't wear No.5 at work in the office, but I put a bit on as I headed out and I had no issues.

Other than Miss Dior (don't have) and Tabac Blond (on the way), I think the others are all great! They each have a time and place, but of those that I've tried, I'd say No.19 is the only one that I'd be willing to wear literally anywhere. My vote's for No.19 - not necessarily because it's "more suitable" for a guy, but simply because it's "more suitable in more places and occasions".

I own 7 of these and need to try the 8th (#19). In no particular order I'd say Tabac Blond, Cabochard and Miss Dior. Not that I'd let these beauties make a permament move to his sink on the other side of the dressing room. I did notice last night that his Cuir Ottoman was far sweeter than my Cabochard. And in my particular household I'd say no on the Shalimar- Habit Rouge turns to sugar on him; Shalimar would not do well.

Voted for Mitsuoko - 2nd choice was Cabochard (Aramis, done better).

For whatever its worth, I think Diorella is way better than Miss Dior.

Have you ever tried Diorissimo? A fantastic floral! I love Diorella, it's Eau Sauvage perfected!

While Chanel No. 19 EDT is one of the most perfect fragrances ever made, the EDP version by Jacques Polge is a stunningly beautiful, edgy, medicinal vetiver dominant fragrance. In my book, it's the best women's vetiver for a man, and oh so easy to wear.
