Hello fellow Basenotes members..
Well basically i'm looking for a few colognes that are good for a young male aged around 15-16ish
I'm not sure what i should buy but atm I have
- Joop Jump Beach Clubbing (LE)
- Jean Paul Gaultier Le male (Shouldn't of bought this one.. seeing as its strong IMO.. does anyone else think its not suitable for a 15year old?)
- CK Crave

Atm i'm looking to buying \t

---- L'eau D'issey Pour Homme by Issey Miyake

---- Calvin Klein Contradiction

---- Burberry Weekend for Men

Does anyone have any other suggestions and would anyone like to give opinions / reviews on the colognes i have mentioned above?
I need colognes that are suitable for a 15-16year old so nothing too out of my range please.
Thanks.

Burberry Weekend, if I am not mistaken, is popular with highschoolers.

Hey mate welcome to Basenotes Which part of Australia you from?

I'm thinking L'eau D'issey is probably a good choice. Have fun!

gday mate.. I reckon if you like your CK Crave you would like L'eau D' Issey PH..

ps: Welcome to Basenotes..!

the current edition of eternity summer for men smells great, good for the hot weather we're having at the moment. welcome to basenotes!

Of the emntioned I only like L'eau D'issey Pour Homme by Issey Miyake
Others are:
Clinique Happy, (A more simple but more stable Crave)
Lacoste essential.
Paris Hilton.
Geir (the 18 year old version of Le male)
Polo Doble Black or Blue.
I do recomend to go out of your "range"... Perhaps you would likethe Givenchys "pour Homme" and "Blue label".Maybe the Bvlgaris BLack and Aqva. Yang, Christian Dior pour homme or Unforgivable. Gucci II or Marc Jacobs. Come on, dare. Let the girls know that puberty is in the past.

L'eau D'Issey would be a great choice.

Uhmmm I think i might also be looking for a few winter ones aswelll...

So far to add to my list

- CK Eternity Summer
and a few of the ones "irish" has mentioned

Thanks
More suggestions would be appreciated
And of course i have money so thats why i'm posting here.. But i'm only looking to get 3-4 more fragrances

Basically, test a few, and see which you actually like best rather than just buying what's popular or on offer or whatever.
That's the fun part about this hobby - the testing. Department stores and perfumeries are a giant smorgasbord for your nose.

Hahaha does anyone that live in Australia know if Geir is available for testing at myer?
Because Perfume Empire is a very big store and they don't even have it.. But strawberry net does..

If you're willing to be a little bit brave, without getting into anything that will smell stodgy at your age, you might want to try on Devin and Tuscany by Aramis. Both worked well for me from age 16-22, and neither smells at all "out of date." Some other worthwhile candidates that you should be able to find and test without trouble are Hermes Eau d'Orange Verte and Terre d'Hermes, Dior Eau Sauvage, and Annick Goutal Eau du Sud. Be sure to test the scents on your own skin, since the results on little cardboard tester strips are often deceptive! Good luck, and enjoy!

Hey Striker... nah I haven't seen Geir sold at Myer (but then in Canberra the Myer stores aren't as big as the Sydney ones I think). Should check with the sales assistants
Hmm maybe try YSL L'homme? Ooh and Terre d'Hermes is a good one Vibert. It's the only Hermes one I have seen so far around here.

We're going to hit autumn / winter soon
Anyone recommend a cologne for the colder days of the year?

Are you interested in or sampled any "sweeter" fragrances such as Thierry Mugler Angel Men, Paco Rabanne Black XS, or Versace The Dreamer?
For your age range and climate (and maybe budget), I'm gonna recommend you try:

1. L'eau Par Kenzo or Kenzo pour homme
2. Iceberg Twice
3. Clinique Happy
for the warmer months

For the cooler months, try
1.Givenchy Pi
2. Versace Man au Fraiche
3. Burberry Brit

Good luck with your search!

If you want something young, cheap and smells good that girls go crazy for, buy very sexy by victoria's secret. Acqua di gio is the more expensive version of what i just said.
mostly anything fresh / fruity will do if you worry about smelling old.
(im 17 btw) some other ones u should try is
CD fahrenheit
versace eau fraiche
gucci envy
escada magnetism

Loewe Pour Homme

Much better than any of the ones you mentioned in your original post.
I'd also recommend Bulgari BLV (Blu) Pour Homme. It's good stuff!
La Coste Essential is really cool, nice and long lasting. I think, the original Jump by Joop! is cool, too In summer, these two scents are quite suitable.
I'm loving the Pi suggestion -really yummy vanillic scent. Should be easy to find at Myer/David Jones. Ditto for the Versace Man Eau Fraiche. Actually I'm not sure whether Myer stocks it (my local one doesn't) but it shouldn't be too hard to find. Other ones I recommend are Body Kouros and Dior Homme. Good luck!
Well i'm a 16 year old guy, also from australia. I'm loving Le Male, Ck One and Estee Lauder Pleasures for men. I have eternity summer (think its 2007), loved it at first but i don't think its crash hot.

And NO at paris hilton. YUCKYUCK! It's for skanky twinks imo
post #24 of 29
I second the Dior homme suggestion
Versace Man Eau Fraiche.

Hey guys
whats something good for winter?
I'm 18 now
Looking for something for winter/spring

(Between 5 - 25 degrees celsius weather)
For winter, definitely check out A*Men by Thierry Mugler (Do NOT blind buy! Try it first) and Burberry London. 2 of my favourite winter fragrances. And for spring, take a look at Lacoste Essential.
