Help me explore Demeter!

Thread Starter
I am going to be ordering some samples from Demeter and would like some suggestions.

The only scent I know that I'm ordering is honey. I'm not interested in scents that smell like dirt, cotton candy, cough syrup, beach, etc. I'm interested in the traditional fragrance type scents: florals, woods, etc.

Which ones by Demeter are known to be well done and good for layering?

Thanks, Missy

I have Pruning Shears and it is very nice for layering.

Wet Garden is their finest scent, IMHO. It can be layered with florals.

Has anyone smelled Geranium by Demeter?
Its a fave accord in fragrances, and I am wondering how the true Demeter scent is.

I have their Tomato and it's very refreshing and unusual.
I only want to smell like a tomato on a few occasions, however,
such as going to a flower/garden show, actually gardening or going on
a country walk. Otherwise you get funny looks....

Hahaha does the tomato stuff smell that realistic?

I had a horrible experience from Demeter. I ordered 10 of their small, $3 scents in May, still haven't received anything, and anytime I've called customer service, they say they'll check into it and email, then never do. I've never had worse experience with any company and I won't be ordering any of their products again.

I have only tried Wet Garden, which I really like, but have never ordered from them directly.

Have they taken your money? I'd be willing to harass, er, I mean, add my voice to complaining to them.

I really liked the tomato note - remarkably like the smell of tomato leaves, reminds me of summer. But no, not something I'd want to smell of every day.
I have their Snow and it's good for the days when you want to smell like that, if you know what I mean. Heliotropy, non-natural and a bit like Philosophy's Pure Grace but with more ozonic crackle. Don't quite know what I'd layer it with. Maybe Hiris? Guess I'll have to start trying things out...

I spent most of my life in Florida where thunderstorms are frequent but am now in Saudi Arabia where it has only drizzled twice in the last two years. I never thought I'd say it but man do I miss a swift loud violent thunderstorm and that smell just before the heavens cut loose. I am thinking of ordering the thunderstorm scent but I have been sorely disappointed with most rain type scents out there. Any tried this one? I'd love to hear about it.

Pruning Shears I have heard wonderful things about, though I have never smelled it yet.
