Expecting Aqua di Parma Colonia in the coming week.
Well, I didn't officially 'buy' these, but they arrived in the mail today - a Xrissy gift from a dear friend who works at C&S in Jermyn ST, London!
They certainly made a great start to my December!

Its the first time Ive smelled the C&S fragrances, - last night I sampled the No.88 and at first thought I felt as though I had stepped into an Indian emporium, with the smell of thick incense and turkish delight! As it developed, it turned into delicious "pink musk lollies", a fave smell of mine from my childhood!

Today I will sample the Cuba, which promises to be as fab as No.88.

These bottles look pricey to me. I'm green with envy! LOL.

Nice! I got C&S no.88 a month ago and I love it!
The Cuba sounds good too!

Last week I got Carthusia Numero Uno for my birthday and now I wanna try the Uomo.

Does it ever stop,
Kiatbkk, I know 100mls of C&S dont come cheap... I really like the No.88, but have just put the Cuba on the swap board in the marketplace. Its not entirely to my taste.

Huh??

I know, it may seem a bit mental I've just received the Cuba, and its already up for swap, but I wore it a good 6 hours today and (how can I put this politely?), I have felt extremely ill. Unfortunately the amazing geranium at the heart of this scent does not win over the sickening (to my mind) tobacco note. Its a scent I have respect for, but its not to my liking. Not now, not ever.
Im sure it may make a special BN'er (someone who can fully appreciate it, and wear it with pride) very happy.
Don't wanna sound like a copycat fragrance stalker psycho, but it looks like we share some simmilar taste in fragrance .
I mean, Carthusia, C&S no.88, Acqua di Parma intensa. Maybe it sets my mind off the Cuba for a while knowing it's not for me also.
Still, I wanna sample it.
I send a mail to C&S a few weeks ago for a sample of Cuba, but they said they were out of samples. (tell me, why do I doubt that, every time a company says that)

So, the Cuba is bit too flowery? then it's not for me.
Hi Eric, indeed we do share a few similar scents It would be interesting to also compare complexion, background, hair/eye colour and lifestyles etc, just to see if our choices are determined perhaps by something greater than just our noses!

I'll set your mind at ease and tell you that C&S do not have samples.
My best friend from college works at C&S H.O. as Art Director and i have been begging her for a few samples for approximately 9 months. She told me they had none. I have been nagging for a decant or at least a spritz on a paper tissue, and I assume this is why (after more than 6 months) the 2 full-size bottles appeared on my doorstep today!

I would suggest you try it, as the feedback in the review section is overwhelmingly positive. Unfortunately for me, although I don't dislike "Cuba", I simply dont want to smell of it. The tobacco accord is a little too astringent for my liking.

got in my last beautyhabit order.

Picked up douce amere, a diptyque pomander candle, and a few small gifts.
Dimitri, what a great gift!
Today I bought, from fellow basenoters, Live Jazz (my quest is to own all of the YSL men's line, apparently), Diptyque's Eau de Lierre, and Aoud Lime. And just when I told myself to hold off on new acquisitions! Good prices, though.
Yesterday I bought a 3.4 back up bottle of Musc Ravageur from a fellow basnoter and I have a bottle of Guerlain's Heritage edp on the way.

Just ordered another bottle of Worth PH (current bottle getting low). This one is the kid brother of Paco Rabanne. Very similar notes but on a much quieter level. And very affordable. An unsung hero.

85 mls of Fifi Chachnil in the pretty pink bottle...this scent has entirely captivated me. It's feminine in the extreme, with a bit of snap to it. Sort of like Tabac Blond in reverse? Tabac Blond is leather and high heel boots, Fifi is pale pink chiffon ....with stilettos and a garter belt. Why am I relating the two? Is it the leather notes that are dominant in Tabac Blond, more subtle in the Fifi, but decidedly present? And the way they make me feel.

OK, so these were there when I got to the office today. The Ambre Précieux is just as rich and voluptuous as I remember it from a long time ago. And the Carthusia Numero Uno deserves high praise. It's a beautiful, dense green chypre that I think is going to become one of my favorites. Very typical chypre, and very green in a totally masculine way. I don't think too many women would go for this one!

After work, I had occasion to go downtown and ended up at Barney's. They had the Nasomatto Duro I had been waiting for, so I got that. The SA also showed me a perfume oil by Regina Harris, New York. There were two of them, but the one I instantly clicked with was one called Frankincense Myrrh Rose Maroc. So naturally, I popped for that one too. It's half an ounce (15 ml.) for USD 125, and it comes in an amber-brown bottle. The other one was in a blue bottle; that one is called Amber Vanilla, and made less of an impression on me. They had exactly three of each. They had gotten in six of the Nasomatto Duro, and I snagged the last one.

Good for you - winter in NY, the smell of Idole in the air...it doesn't get any better than that does it?

3. Monsieur Carven EDT - 50 ml

Most exciting was Houbigant perfume, which is the grand-grand-father of Lavande Annick Goutal, for example.

Just about an hour ago I bought Hugo Dark Blue (75ml) and YSL L'Homme (100ml).

Ah, I'm going mad now, LOL.

In the next 2 days there will be a big warehouse sale, of course, I'll be there. Looking forward to getting Salvatore Ferragamo and Bvlgari Black.

Wasn't going to buy anything for a long time, but I was drunk ( Saturday night, not right now) and couldn't resist ordering Creed Santal Imperial and John Varvatos Vintage. Both blind buys, so I'm anticipating their arrival.
Vintage Derby.

Ordered but yet to arrive on my mat a 93ml L'Heure Bleue edt in a rechargeable canister

Jean Patou Joy EDP and Shower/bath lotion (for a Christmas present).

2 x 25ml purse sprays of Agent Provocateur ... gifts for a few women in my life
Astonishingly, they are a new release at our supermarket chain here in Denmark. ($38USD each).
Yesterday, I picked up a bottle of Hermès Eau des Merveilles. For the longest time, I haven't been able to decide if I liked this or the Elixir des Merveilles better. To complicate matters further, Hermès now has a third in the series, Parfum des Merveilles. I decided I might end up getting all three, so I started with the weakest; thus, if I go further, I can go from strength to strength, as the saying goes...
Again, today, I bought a set of Kenneth Cole Signature, which is consisted of 100ml-EDT and 100ml-Aftershave.

30 ml of blue stratos aftershave splash for £3.95. I haven't smelled this for about 30 years. It was the first fragrance I was obsessed with (along with old spice).

Can't wait.
Kouros...if I have ever had a true signature scent, it was Kouros in the 80's. It's a timeless scent that I should never be without.

I bought a new bottle for $35. This is not a widely discounted scent. It is almost impossible to find a 1.6 OZ for less than $30. That's kind of strange for a scent that's been around that long.
