It feels like i joined just yesterday!
It has been such a great time being with you guys, and to celebrate this 3000 posts mark and 300 reviews mark , i just got to talk about one of the most popular yearly events: The Basenotes Awards, and i would like to know, which will be your favorites and what scents should be considered towards the nominations!

It's still early, but let's hear it!

cheers

After testing a lot of scents over the last couple months (due to Basenotes y'all!!!), I have found that Michael for Man, Michael Kors has stood out quite a bit. It's my vote for Best Men's. There were some not so far behind (I love Terre d'Hermes too...), and I think it will make a run for the best this year and not just the best new release.

I haven't tried many of the new scents (unfortunately) - so I couldn't make a good vote there.

Congratulations! 3000 posts is quite a milestone, and I'd be curious to know how many have made it that far. And thanks for the reviews; I'm grateful for them all.
My experience seems to be the reverse of yours - I feel like I've been lurking on the board forever, but have only amassed a tiny fraction of the posts you have!

Thanks guys!

So nobody else has favorites this year?

I'd like to point out that i might vote for the nominations for the following scents: (in no order)

Baldessarini Ambré
Fahrenheit 32
Hypnôse Homme
Narciso Rodriguez for him

on the Mass Market i'd go for either Lacroix's Noir or Dana's English Leather Black.

since i consider Tom Ford a celebrity, i think TomF for Men a good choice for celeb scent. I mean what else is there on the men's market that can be even considered for the Bnotes awards? I just can't vote for PDiddy's scent, it's just not too good IMHO.

and for niche, how could i not choose Reflection Man?
that's it for now but i will think it over a little more...

My favorites this year are:
Baldessarini Ambré
Hypnôse Homme
Narciso Rodriguez for him

The latter is the best, IMO.

It's harder to choose overall favorites, I like Basala, Antaeus, Opium, M7, Rive Gauche, Guerlain Vetiver - so many to choose juct one. I already posted in previous thread that there should be categories like Best three houses, best three colognes, etc.

Congrats Castor on 3M.

My fav mens scent of 2007 is a tie between Narciso Rodriguez for Him and Tom Ford Extreme. With a 2nd place award (if there was such a thing) for Black Tourmaline by Olivier Durbano.

Forgot to say that my niche was Carthusia Uomu - I really love it...!

I saw Baldessarini Ambré at TJ Maxx - passed on it, but wished I could have smelled. Any comparisons?
