I wear a suit jacket all day everyday, and sometimes a long-sleeved dress shirt with my suit jacket. If I only spray on inner elbow, I don't see how anybody could ever smell the fragrance.

For God's sake don't apply any fragrance to parts of your body where someone's mouth might come in contact with shortly after the application. It's like licking a gasoline tank.

I've noticed that if I spray my clothes with the scent (inner elbow), I can notice the scent for a much longer time. Only works for linear, non developing scents though.

^I think it works on non-linear scents even better!

The duration of development seems to multiply about 20 fold, so it may seem that the top notes last a very long time. Or it may seem to make a non-linear scent linear by extending the top so far.
I.E. I sprayed my favorite jacket with about 30 sprays of Green Irish Tweed when testing @ NM.
The top notes lasted strong for 3-4days, the middle dominated for another 3days, and that sweet, sweet Sandalwood and Ambergris drydown is still subtly there after weeks.

Clothes>skin for all scents' sillage & sillage-longevity IMHO.
It also takes skin chemistry out of the equation, so your favorite that dies or smells different on your skin will smell just as it should on clothes.

PSA: just make sure not to spray it on white clothes

And as usual the real secret to sillage is spraying a sh!tload all over.

It does indeed enlarge the sillage and longevity.
Only spraying to the neck and wrists is just wrong and stupid.

This works very good with Terre d'Hermes.
Two sprays to the chest, and you're set for the whole day!

yes and yes - i feel like TdH really blends in with the wearer's chemistry and this is the perfect way to achieve it. it totally comes alive!

What about applying to both armpits...

Also if you are wearing any kind of inner, applying on that gives a fair amount of sillage and lasting as the fabric of the inner holds the perfume better and as & when it comes to contact of the skin, its chemistry changes
