Spent the night with her - gonna spend the day with her: KL Loukhoum!!! Just wanna SWIM in it!!

I'm wearing Coco Mademoiselle that I was given recently as a gift ( a very unusual gift - for a perfumista I get remarkably few perfume gifts). Chanel is very peculiar to my nose. It's the scent equivalent of a uniform. It's sort of nice, safe, conformist, and as reassuring to the masses as an air hostess's corporate scarf tied jauntily to the side. It has a certain something, but it is just not me.

Jil Sander No.4

Erm, my youngest son has become very ill now, it's morning but the fever is sky-high.

I'm in Eau de Charlotte. We're doing Sinterklaas next Sunday, so I hope my son will be much better then, poor dear thing.
Poor lievje, poor kid...sending out hugs and healing vibes. That must be a strong flu attack.

Brotha G, you must have had an all-night Sinterklaas party!! You're one month in the past!

Yes indeed, Buni, and having to get up this early doesn't help at all Thanks for showing me the error, have edited it.

I've changed into Jil Sander Man from a sample. Slightly generic but with an interesting edge.
I started the day in Chamade but then there came something wonderful from the sweetest Sinterklaas there ever was

So..... and now dressed in the wonderful
Pour un Homme de Caron

Woods, Musk, Vanilla and above all, my beloved Lavender

Happy!!

Not so happy though about the news from lievje. All the best to you, my dear, and to your poor son. You must be worried sick. Big hug!!
Oh, poor lievje !
Sending you love and wishes for a speedy recovery for your little one...

Bitter cold here-
I'm wrapped in AL Angel Face- a very soft floral musk, but I may have to layer it with Amber Essence.

Stay well, out there... !

I'm wearing my new Bois d'Iris. Veeery happy with it
Have already got nice comments

Prada Infusion d'Iris

My husband gave me a decant for Chanukah. Because he's the best.

I must say, that while I love it, it's not what I expected! When I sniff, I get a HUGE dose of soft cedar (Iso E Super?), and maybe some vanilla? I don't know why cedar always confuses and startles me. I guess if my husband ever wanted to find a good costume to scare me he could just dress as a cedar.

But, when I'm not sniffing, just sitting around minding my own business, I get hit with a fantastic dollop of powdery soft buttery iris.

Sniff my wrist and....cedar!

I'm not sure what's causing this chimerical effect (could just be I'm crazy - crazy for perfume! ha!) but it's interesting.

It;s very pretty, but also very snoogly. I truly enjoy chypres, I realize.

I'm treating my co-workers to Ambre Sultan today It's my last day of work before my vacation starts!
Yes, Jicky smells better on me than on a tester strip, that's for sure. The drydown is very nice.
It does a much better job of animalic citrus than Kingdom, IMHO.
Looked on this thread for some inspiration on what to wear today and it's going to be Jicky.
Just have to have a bath first.

Lievjie hope your little boy's fever breaks soon. It's so scary when little children are sick.
Best wishes to all today.
x

later: nope, went with Ambre Sultan - more appropriate for the Klausmarkt tonight.

Profumum Fumidus

The smoke eventually clears to reveal an Scotch cask/vetiver accord. I have finally learned to appreciate this one.

(And yes, I have one of those amazing Dutch surnames that no non-Dutch person can spell or pronounce.)

Happy Sammiklaus, Wordbird

I only now got the chance to read the complete thread of yesterday's SotD
And I think you are right that the 'official birthday' of Sammiklaus/Sinterklaas is on the 6th

Ah well, we stubborn Dutch eh

Sampling Confetto, by Profumum.

Notes: sugared almond, amber, musk, hint of anise

Yum. And I kinda like the style of Profumum's bottles, too.

Hope everyone feels better soon!

I'm wearing Chergui today.

Joining the well-wishers for lievje's son and agent provocateur.

I have so many goodies here from so many darlings. Opted for Guerlain Purple Fantasy from Dimples. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Oh, this is so pleasant, so kindly. You couldn't be a bad girl in this darling fragrance. Loved PF's review by Purplebird--but that's no surprise.

"Get well" wishes for AP and Erm, and strength to Mama Lievje. Fevers can be so scary.

Slept in Eau de Merveilles, woke up with a jolt of Maharanih. About to shower; no idea what scent is next.
Wishing everyone a great big GET WELL SOON!

It's Cashmere Mist right now but my bottle of MIDNIGHT TRYST arrived today so I'll be wearing that tonight.
Neil generously sent along three big spray samples... I know I'm gonna just HAVE TO HAVE them as well, I'm almost scared to sniff...I already need Parfums d'Ida & Gala!

I felt like something light today, so I spritzed on some Aqua Allegoria Pivoine Magnifica. Think I'll go for something with more 'oomph' tomorrow.

Have been wearing With Love by Hilary Duff today.

I've been wearing Hanae Mori today.

Gosh, been so very busy these past two weeks. I've only had time to come in and read some threads when I have little snatches of time.

Happy belated Sinterclaus (although, it's still Dec 6 here :wave!

Everyone who is ill with flu... keep warm and drink chicken soup!

Poor boy! My heart goes out to you Lievje. Take good care of him.

Enjoy the Purple Fantasy Quarry (and others!). I love this one too! So easy to wear. I'm just so sad to hear that it's been discontinued.

I'm comfy, cosy at home with Shalimar!

Went to bed in Chanel No. 5 Body Mist.

Tested Michael Storer's Monk today. I don't get any leather from it, but I do get fresh, frozen forest. I reminds me of my parent's farm (which is mostly woods) where I'll be in less than two weeks.

I recieved a package of samples from Liz Zorn in the mail today, so now I'm wearing about six different scents. So far, so good. I think I may really like some of these.

It's been busy day and night this week.....

SotD - Serge Lutens Douce Amere
SotE - Dior Addict (for a huge law firm xmas party at a fancy hotel)
