Chevalier d'Orsay - sillage and longevity?

I'm thinking of purchasing Chevalier d'Orsay but wanted to get input on it's sillage and longevity. How is it? Does it last? Does it project or just stay close to the skin? Any other thoughts or input on this fragrance would be most appreciated.

I remember sampling it a while back. It stayed close to the skin but not for long. That said I truly love ArĂ´me 3 and Le Dandy. They're everything a quality edt should be with the benefit of being the blends of a genius.

Not much sillage, as fredricktoo said. I find the lasting power decent on me - it will last a day at the office. I also like Arome 3 better, though Chevalier does get 4 stars in my book. Of all the d'Orsays Le Dandy probably projects the most, but none of them are sillage monsters.

Moderate sillage and longevity, it is best appreciated by you and those within a close proximity. The scent is wonderful, but not particularly forward. Not something that the secretaries will snicker at for being obvious all around the floor, but they might want to get closer if they detect it.....

Arome 3 (trois not three) has more projection but no more longevity. It is great and for younger men or even ladies. Chevalier is not something many women would go for, except on their men.

Longevity isn't bad - 4 to 6 hours, with a lingering balsamic/amber drydown. This is no sillage bomb, and you'll neither fill the room nor choke on it. It's not just a skin scent, but the projection is fairly limited, so unless you bathe in the stuff it won't be smelled on you much past handshake distance. It's a very nice scent, by the way, and they haven't screwed it up the way they did Le Dandy in the '90s.

Good for work, first dates, and sophisticated social gatherings.
