Nah!! I did not notice it was Kyra's birthday yesterday

Belated congratulations, my dear I hope you had a great day.

And Jillsy: congrats to you as well. You are one of the 'oldies' now. Feels soooo good.

For today:

Shalimar EDP

Not that I can smell it, but is it not our sacred duty to smell great, no matter what?

LIB, your recipe for colds is lethal ::hiccup::

Have a good start of the week and I hope Lievje's son is feeling a bit better. Good wishes to you, my dear.

I am once again wearing the delicious, gorgeous, unfathomable, Prada Infusion d'Iris today. I can't get enough of it. I reckon I'm going to need a new bottle soon, and I only just bought this one.

Picked the wrong cannister, I was originally going to apply Vol de Nuit, after a spritz, I realised that it was Guerlain Mitsouko . Oh wellz... I guess it is just as good as they are from the same family.

Puzzling I could have sworn you said: hot brandy and a teaspoon of milk......

So that is the secret of a good night sleep ::snored like a bear ::

BearSisC, you simply must try this potion. Hibernation within minutes.

Yup, it worked. So great in fact that I will take it before lunch again

I'm in Courtesan today. I have a dedline in 10 days so I won't see much world outside the office walls. Have stocked up on my pretty bottles in order to get through :-))))))
Congrats jillsy, you will smell very sweet and festive for your formal.

And to everyone with germs - feel better!

Today I am wearing CBIHP Wild Hunt with a generous dab of Violet Empire on the base of my throat and the back of one hand (for discreet work time sniffing).

I am totally in love with Wild Hunt, it makes me feel happy and pretty. It seems to fade a little fast, or maybe my nose just acclimates to it?
sending well wishes to the sleepless Indiscreet

and congrats to Jillsy and Kyra

today the last few drops of my Carnal Flower decant has chosen me ... mmmmm.......

Ineke Chemical Bonding

Have you ever had one of those Mondays where everything is out of synch and is much harder than it needs to be? This is one of those Mondays.

A shame because I'm really enjoying this scent. First wearing of this scent off of Ineke's gorgeous sample pack.

After trying the entire line, I find she is very good at creating very "clean" scents. I wish I was better at identifying notes, but there is a "freshness" that seems to run through the entire line (including Derring Do - which registered very "masculine" on me and is the heaviest of the 4 currently released).

I love it when I find scents that I can grab and know I smell good. :bounce:

The now-defunct Ralph Lauren Safari - a sample from Wolfie. Dusty, dry chypre with a warm, subtle dry-down - perfect 180 turn from yesterday's L. Hard to believe this was a big deal - it seems SO non-mass market somehow.

Many positive vibes heading out to the sickies and KYRA.....Happy Belated!!!!

Habit Rouge (edp) for me today

Un Jardin sur le Nil for wearing white on a rainy day
post #28 of 51
Congrats Jillsy and Kyra

Get better quick to all who are under the weather.

Horrible freezing rain/sleet here today - DH tried to leave for work - his car spun out and slid down a hill. He came back home - safe but shaken.

Wearing Parure today

Guerlain Purple Fantasy for me, courtesy of a sample. (thanks, Dimples!)

Does it remind you of Christmas fruit and spice cake, my dear? It is a spice feast indeed, and the notes reflect its undeniable richness: cedar, sandalwood resin, candied mandarin peel, dried fig, dates, nutmeg, cumin, clove, Ceylon cardamom, bay leaf, balsamic resins, Tonka bean, Siamese benzoin, myrrh, cistus labdanum, light tobacco note (taken from the site of Serge-expert Bela).

Maybe I'm wrong,
but it reminds me a little bit of
Jaïpur Homme by Boucheron from 1997

I'm testing Eau de Parfum by Juozas Statkevicius (or Josef Stakus) today.

notes include: Jasmine, patchouli, coriander, incense, amber, cashmere wood, vanilla, benzoin, musk.

oh lordy! this is amazing!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Happy belated to KYRA.

Congrats on your 1 yr. anniversary JILLSY. Mines coming up here in a couple of weeks as well. Woo hoo!

Wearing VOL d NUIT EVASION (thanks DIMPS!) on the right, and GUET APENS on the left for comparison. I do smell slight similarities, but have only had them on for about 10 mins., so will see... I'll try it with ATTRAPE COEUR tonite!

GET WELL soon all you lovely fluies!
Hi all,

I'm wearing Chene this morning.
Good Morning everybody,

I planned on resting up this weekend but got dragged into DH's home improvement schemes instead. I ache all over. My original scent plan called for something bright and energizing to perk up the loathed Monday at work, but I can't even pretend. I need comfort and calm (and ibuprofen), so I am going for Black Cashmere, both the frag and the sweater (and the ibuprofen).

Jillsy, I hope you had a fantastic time. I'd wave, but the med hasn't kicked in yet.

Started off the work week in Narciso Rodriguez for Her.

Test driving Messe de Minnuit. Wanted to wear Love Comes from Within but couldn't find my decant.
Glad everyone is safe (scary about the car sliding downhill).
Hope all are recuperating (maybe lievje's sleeping in?),
and that Monday doldrums will be the worst to befall any of us.

Happy Kyra's enjoyed another trip around the sun
and am ecstatic for Jillsy's anniversary!

I'm do my best to be useful for the blind sniffing challenge.
Scent A on right wrist, Scent B on left wrist--don't know what I'm wearing

Off to bed in a generous sample from KBE ....this interesting frag is slow to develop - it's iris and lavender with a hint of leather that's quite prominent in the dry down. I might need more of this.......
I'm testing Parfum D'Empire - Equistrius tonight

This showcases the chilly side of iris ... it seems light and airy, not as powdery as some iris scents ... it seems to really be taking me on a ride, the notes are weaving and changing all the time ...

Notes: orris, violet, rice powder, chocolate, ambrette, sandalwood, vetiver, and grey amber
post #48 of 51
gosh, been so very busy.

Started off this morning in Caron's En Avion. parfum form. Lovely, lovely leather. I can still smell it.
Nahema EDP as I was tracking a bottle on ebay, but decided not to up my bid.
It's a beautiful 'fume but I am fine with just a decant to turn to when I feel in need of roses.

Been watching my DVD of The Libertine with Johnny Depp and crying my eyes out. So beautiful, so sad. Such a deep draught of life drunk. I like Rochester; I have known a man with that charisma and heartbeaking, life-enhancing hedonistic streak. And I love the music at the end - the contralto singing. I don't know what it is, but it's sad and lovely at the same time.
Went with Bandit today. My first time. Is this really so controversial? To my it smelled like a well-behaved green chypre, with a good bit of tame, white musk. Nice, I could see making it my office scent. Am I nuts? Is my nose drunk?

Now I am sampling Ginestet Botrytis which is scrumptious but short-lived (yet oh-so-worth-it) and Frapin 1270, also very good.
SotE - Also Ginestet Botrytis. Tried this out on the Bowling Boys last night.

It seems to last longer on me than on you Pellen. I kept getting random whiffs of this lovely sugared scent, kept looking around and realized it was me. I LOVED that!

Bowling Boys reaction - well, the usual stuff. Much harassment and general merrymaking all around. All unusual behavior seemed to be fueled by the pitchers of beer. No comment on the scent.
