You keep backup bottles of the following fragrances...

Thread Starter
Concerning my collection,I own:

Two x 50 ml bottles of Trussardi L' Uomo (I used to think that this one was the best masculine ever made.EVER).
Two x 50 ml bottles os Havana by Aramis (well, that's more obvious).
Two x 50 ml bottles of M7 Fresh (I trully dislike the original, but this one is another story:sparkling, light, versatile, plus the second bottle was a bargain at about 15 Euros).
Two x 50 ml bottles of Boss Sport (not only a rarity, but also the best Hugo Boss scent ever made in my opinion).
Two x 100 ml bottles of Liquid Karl by Karl Lagerfeld (I bought the first just by curiocity and a second one because I thought that it was an extremely rare/expensive item.Of course that's not the case.I do not wear it,neither I intend to sell/swap it).

What about you?

The only backup bottle I have is, of all things, Caswell-Massey's Persian Leather. I stocked up on it a year or so ago when it was removed from their catalog and was my signature scent at the time. Then I discovered Basenotes...
I'm not sure I intend to stock backups unless, as with PL, I'm sure that something I love will be discontinued.

I don't even have any room for my primary bottles anymore .
I've sold or am selling most backups (Versailles, Asprey, Jean Marie Farina) with one exception: Patou pour homme.
Not yet, as my collection is new and most bottles are 60-90% filled so far... so no need unless something is going to be discontinued.
Armand Basi is the only one so far... It was the first scent I really liked when I first got into this fragrance addiction... It was so good (and cheap) that I felt the need to have an extra bottle on had in case it ever got discontinued.... I still enjoy the scent, though I realize that I didn't need an extra bottle of it...

As of right now, I have full bottles of all the scents that are worth backing up. I wouldn't back up anything that came out in the last few years, so that leaves me with...

Havana
Havana Reserva
Gai Mattiolo Uomo
Loewe Para Hombre

Exactly. It's expensive enough to keep buying the scents that I don't have yet. I only buy back up when my current bottle is almost finished, or when the scent is being discontinued and I find it cheap. So far, I have
B Man
Nemo
CDG 2
Coriolan
Rive Gauche

Ambre Sultan

I am looking for backups of a few more.
I only get backups of something if I'm almost finished a bottle, or if it's something rare or very expensive (usually both!) that I wear often, and that I don't have a 100ml of, and I see it pop up at a very good price.

Therefore the backups I have are all Lutens exclusives or Haute Concentrations since they're expensive, or rare, and come in 50ml bottles:

Chergui
Vetiver Oriental
Chypre Rouge
Cèdre
Arabie (I got this because I thought it had been discontinued! In any case my first bottle is running out.)

I used to have a backup of Fumerie Turque, but I found I wasn't wearing it enough to merit keeping it, and I sold it off. Same with Opium Pour Homme EDP, especially since it's not super hard to find.

Almost everything else in my collection is 100ml

Patou Pour Homme

Ambre sultan
Santal Noble

Havana Reserva 50ml
Heritage EDP Old Formula 75ml

Patou pour Homme - hard to get! I had to pick up an extra when I stumbled onto it.

I used to have a hoarding problem, lol. Now, I just get big bottles of everything. I do, however, keep an extra bottle of CK be on the chance that the discontinuation rumors are true.
I don't suppose this counts, but I own two bottle of Antaeus by Chanel, since the first one got cooked in my car on day [only took about an hour and a half.

...Consider that an expensive lesson learned.

I have a great deal of backup bottles, specially of Égoïste (I literally buy one bottle whenever i see it), but some of these other backup bottles were planned and the others unplanned, sometimes i even forget what i already have. But i prefer it that way: if you have one, you may as well have 4.
Terracotta Voile d'Ete - have 2 backups, and will probably buy more
Mille et Une Roses - 1 extra
Parure - 1 extra

Thinking of backing up Un Jardin en Méditerranée & Un Jardin sur le Nil, both of which I've just bought - thanks to BN - and adore, but much to my distress keep reading mentions in blogs that these may be discontinued. Can someone who is more familiar with Hermes comment on this rumor?

I fail to see your logic; nevertheless, I like the idea. I may consider incorporating it into my own frag philosophy.
