Wearing Chergui and Musc Ravageur for a party?

Has anyone ever experienced how Chergui (Serge Lutens) and Musc Ravageur (Frédéric Malle) work under circumstances like a party? I mean: How do they behave, given that there will be a lot of smoke? The smell of food? Lots of sweat, too?

Why do I ask this? I want to avoid wearing A*Men (Thierry Mugler) or Rochas Man (Rochas), which I consider too "safe", too conventional. I'd nevertheless like to smell "sweet" in the vein of the former mentioned ones. Just a bit more sophisticated...

Thanks in advance.

I wore MR tonight when my wife and I went out on a 'date'. We didn't go to a party but to a fried seafood cafe. Nobody started sneezing or leaving the cafe so I guess my MR was OK?

Don't know why either wouldn't be alright for you.

MR will work wonderfully in a party - the cinnamon and vanilla make it quite it appropriate for a holiday event in my opinion.

I vote for MR. Chergui is nice but MR is more friendly. Perfect for this time of year.

I've actually worn each to parties before.
I find MR to be a bit dangerous in party settings, because you never know how hot a party is going to be and at least on me, MR has out of control and nauseatingly relentless sillage when I sweat a lot. If you wear this, I would apply about as small of an amount as possible.
As far as Chergui goes, I've found it to be inconsistent in more crowded settings and I'm really not sure why--sometimes it's performed wonderfully and I've been very pleased, and other times I've been disappointed, mostly in the sense that the beautiful purity of the scent is being ruined by all of the olfactory commotion going on around it. Nowadays I only wear Chergui on cool nights in which I know that I will be enjoying a cool, serene evening outdoors.
Obviously I don't fully recommend either, but I wouldn't be surprised if you have a fine time wearing either to the party. If your scent bothers you, just drink until you smell like nothing but alcohol.

I've tried a mix of equal parts of Musc Ravageur, Chergui, and Scent of Eros (pheromones) with a good response at parties, if you know what I mean

I went out to dinner with a large group of friends the other night and wore Chergui, not one person commented on it, but somehow it felt wrong. Amber and food clash. I did go to a big, boozy, office party the other night and wore Black Aoud - it was a huge hit. The rose and the medicinal aoud cut through all the smoke, shell fish odor and sweat. I think the key is to smell sharp all night long and MR might be a bit funky by the end of the night. I think something cedar based would work well, too.

I wore MR to a party in May (very warm here) and received rave reviews. One young woman jumped up and down after hugging my neck. Personally, I feel Chergui and MR are both excellent choices especially for this time of year but I would be inclined to wear MR.

Anecdotal Note: One thing I have noticed about wearing in MR is an increase in the number of people who move in close to me and an increase in the number of touches I receive. It seems like people want to get closer to me and touch me more when I am wearing MR. I cannot think of another fragrance I have worn that has elcited such a consistent response from others. Interesting.

I love MR feminine powdery vs fecal notes, always a favorite of mine for partying
