Heywo:wave:

Having forgotten to go find a sample for yesterday I went to the mall today and spritzed on a bit of Body Kouros in honour of Grant's birthday. I figured that this morning would be yesterday in different parts of the world anyway

Have a great day everyone!

Well, pluran-
ARE YOU EXCITED< OR WHAT ?

Can't say as I blame you !
When Barney's opened in Boston, My DH actually didn't hesitate one moment, to buy me a big bottle.
Perfect.

I think I'm repeating Madame X, with which I anointed myself before bed.

Feminite du Bois for me today. Youngest son has just taken off from Heathrow,
bound for New York, on the first leg of his "Round the World" gap year trip!
I'm excited for him and missing him already. Mixed emotions of course.
Pray for his safe return for me, please.

Where the hell is Moondeva anyway? I miss her posts.

Kewart, more Mom-to-Mom hugs to you!!! Your son will be grateful later for having had the opportunity of such a wonderful adventure.

Whiffman, "Burnt Amber #5?" Knowing/loving your work and just hearing the notes, I'll be over on my way home from work.

Today I smell *extremely* elegant in Creations Mathias Eau de Narguile, thanks to the glorious Lady in Black!!! I need an event to attend...

Hello folks!
I am as happy as can be...I really needed these holidays!

Kewart, I understand your mama heart is aching for your young one - but what a life experience for him!

I am wearing Prada Infusion d'Iris today.

Hugs to everybody ... you all smell great - with a special mention for BrothaG and Michael...yummy lads!

Today would have been my Dad's birthday ... and I always wear Oscar today. My Dad gave me a bottle right before he passed (it had been my step-mother's). I always wear it on her birthday, too.

Oscar doesn't get talked about much on BN, but it really is a very nice floral/oriental that reminds me a lot of L'Heure Bleu.

Knee deep in ambers.
L'Artisan Ambre Extreme, Montale Blue Amber, Serge Lutens Amber Sultan, Kuumba Made Amber Paste. I've had Etro Ambra in the past but ran out.
Hey, people? What's your favorite amber?

Kewart, you have to let them go.
They must flap their wings.
You did the right thing.

Oh, I love just about anything amber. I wear L'Artisan Ambre a lot but have not had the opportunity to try the extreme version. I was shocked though at how much I LOVED Ava -Luxe Golden Amber and Ambra Tibet.....if only I could get my hands on full bottles of those! I have a sample of Blue Amber and was very infatuated with it for several days I will have to revisit that one and I am dying to try Amber Sultan. How does anyone actually pick a favorite?
Oh, Bird !
Where to begin ?
All of those you mention, plus Ambra Aurea, Ambre Antique, AL Dark Amber, Amber Essence, Golden Amber,Sweet Amber Wood, Kingsbury Classic Amber ,Madini Amber and Ambargris [ thank you,Birdeleh !], SMN's Ambra Lavanda...
Probably more, but I'm fuzzy...

Every time our daughter leaves the nest, kewart, it gets easier, but you should see how shredded my apron strings are from trying to keep her close.

Wearing Angelique Noire. Last night's Mira Bai is mildly present and resisting replacement.

Today I'm wearing my beloved Colony.

Today Madame X for me. It is my first time, and it is wonderful!
My favorite amber, hands down, is Ambre Russe.
It is hard when children leave, but then it is surprisingly good. The worry never ceases, though.

Hope you all have had a nice and peaceful Christmas!!

I am wearing Dreaming by Tommy Hilfiger today. A yummy peach and strawberry scent, bet this will be a BIG

Feeling much better today, rested up and delighted to have the day off at last. I am geting too old to do 16 hour days at the hospital.

Today I am giving MS Il Giardino a try. My daughter referred to it as an Eau de Guerlain type but without the citrus overload.

Might do some sniffing locally, too. But might just relax and read.

I was surprised to see SJP Covet and Hermes Kelly Caleche already discounted online. Thought I'd mention it to those who like those scents but are balking at paying full price. Between the free shipping, the coupon and the already discounted price you can do very well. Perhaps it's the ever increasing number of launches that gets so many scents to the web so fast? I wonder how many new scents will last this onslaught of mass production?

As for my favorite Ambers? Amber Sultan, of course. My first and favorite SL.

Today my envelope of decants came and I dabbed on a wee bit of CBIHP Musk Reinvention.

It smelled so moderate in the vial, so I put on a good dab.

But, WOW! I feel like I've been up to no good, smelling like this. I should have dabbed on a wee bit less.

I think I like it.

Welcome back home, musse! Hope your vacation was lovely.

P-bird, my favourite amber must be Ambre Narguilé, but I'm not so sure in that field....so many ambers I love: Esteban Ambre, il Profumo Ambre d'Or, YR Voile d'Ambre, Profumum Fiore d'Ambra.
..and am developing a lemming for AG Ambre Fétiche :bounce:

My SotE is PG Haramens...I have to say it performs waaay better in warm weather.

Thanks LIB. I am luxuriating in the sweet warm essence of pipe tobacco with a ghostly trace of vanilla.

My favorite is "The Sultan" in all its sultry, spicy, sensuality. I also wrap up in the soothing comfort of Ambre Précieux for a change of pace. Honorable mention to Montale Blue Amber and Profumum Ambra Aurea.

For ambergris, nothing satisfies me like the swoon-inducing, intoxicating opium/ambergris blend of Profumum Fiori d'Ambra--foreplay on rose red silk sheets. Need a decant of this, I'm almost out.

I have fond memories of Oscar. A personal favorite from the late 70s along with Lauren and Opium. Oscar has smelled wonderful on every woman who has worn it in my presence. Shannon, I am certain it smells as wonderful on you today.

First test of my sample of Muscs Koublaï Khan. To my surprise, this is a pretty and inoffensive musk, almost shy. I love it, but if I was trying to seduce, I would wear Chanel Cuir de Russie; much of the same character, but with claws and teeth.

Mmmmm... Michael, you smell *delicious*. Tobacco Vanille is on my wish list. Stand a little closer, sweetheart...

Lord, between you and KBE in Havana, I'm just about in heaven.

As for ambers, my very favorite is also Profumum's Fiori d'Ambra -- though I think the foreplay's on *gold* silk sheets with opium-laced incense burning across the room and a Roman glass jar full of honey by the bed...

(I got a holiday gift cert to LuckyScent, too... so might actually be able to buy this one sometime soon!).

My other amber favorites are Ava Luxe Sweet Amber Wood and Amber Essence, MPG's Ambre Precieux and Montale's Blue Amber (also on my wish list).

Hoping to test L'Artisan's Ambre Extreme and Neil Morris Fragrances Burnt Amber #5 in 2008 (if not before)!

Hugs to you Kewart. My firstborn son went away to university this past september and it was hard... but he's back for the holidays! yay!

I'm with LIB, with Ambre Narguile as my fave amber. Thanks for the intro to this one tdi! *waves*... Ambre Sultan comes a close second.

Today, I dabbed on Chanel no5, a sample from the lovely enabler, rtamara. Thank you Renee. I really like this formula.... it's much better than the EDT and the EDP.

Why thank you, ComDiva. I am certain Tobacco Vanille smells just divine on you as well.

I can see the gold sheets working very well in context with amber. My preference is for dark shades of red because the exotic, dark haired ladies to whom I am drawn look unbelievably sexy and beautiful in rich, dark red silk sheets and lingerie. l like the opium-laced incense, nice addition. I would also add a little cinnamon to the honey to add a warming touch. Delicious.
