Givenchy Pi...can a woman pull it off?

I've been trying various new scents and I like Givenchy Pi on me. Hubby liked it on me but not on him. How would you react to a woman wearing it? Would it be offputting? Too masculine?

I've heard (if I remember correctly) Hypnose by Lancome is the counterpart to it, but Hypnose smells more floral. I liked the Hypnose on paper but have to sample it on my skin.

I usually wear:
Les Couvent des Minimes Lemon Verbena (summertime mostly)
Happy by Clinique
Sweet Rain by Auric Blends (A musk and floral composition with heliotrope, lily and hyacinth, supported by precious woods and topped off with fresh green notes.)

Hells yeah a woman can pull it off! Granted...I prefer more masculine fragrances, but Pi is definitely wonderful & I love it so much. I'd love to smell more ladies wearing this!!!

I'm a woman and I own and wear Pi. I find it to be very unisex (works well for both groups).

When I started on my fragrance journey (which has now becaome something of an obsession), I thought that scents marked for women should/could only be worn by women and scents marked for men should/could only be worn by men. I have long since tossed that rule aside, as have many here on basenotes. I now wear what appeals to me and smells nice on me, regardless of what gender the manufacturer was aiming for.

My fragrance wardrobe probably has just as many unisex or masculine scents as it does feminine. Wear what pleases you!

I love Pi on men and women. I own a bottle myself. I don't really worry about a fragrance being masculine or feminine anymore ( although most of my frags are for women). I just bought my Dad a bottle of Christian Lacroix Tumulte and I could bathe in that stuff ( I am secretly hoping he won't like it so I can have it back) I say go for it if you like wearing something!

I have a small 15ml bottle that when finished I will replace with a large size! It's yummy!

If you all don't mind me adding to this! Every once and a while, my wife will wear some of my Pi, and it smells great on her, If you posess a certain level of confidence, you can indeed pull this off, There's one way to find out. Go for it. ( good luck )

I love Pi on men *because* I find it to be a slightly feminine fragrance - only in that it's very soft and cuddly. I absolutely think that a woman can pull it off.

I'm a Y-chromosomer, but in case you'd like my opinion, I would most definitely like Pi on a woman!

Thank you for the responses. I've been wearing it all day and the smell is lasting. There's just something about it.....It's not a perfume..it's a scent...does that make sense?

I much prefer Pi on myself than on my husband. All the powdery vanilla works better on my skin.

Oh my gosh, I was actually thinking about Pi as I was surfing the threads. And then I encountered this thread! Hm... I say YES a woman can pull it off. Because I like wearing it myself, tee hee. However, I do like the fact the Pi is a sweet scent marketed for men, as there are just so few of those out there.

Pi is the only scent that my mother-in-law wears. She claims that after years of searching it was the only one that didn't make her stomach turn. It smells fine on her, I have no idea what affects her about perfumes in general and why should find Pi different.

Why, yes, I think a woman can wear it, as women can wear almost any manly 'fume they want. I certainly partake on occassion of a man's colonge...

now you're making me want to go and smell Pi again, as its been ages since i have! grrr....

Yes, definitely. I wear it now and then and I am reminded of something similar my wife had before. The sillage may be a little strong so I spritz just enough as not to overpower. The base is a perfect vanilla for a woman too. If it smells good on you, wear it.

put it like this.....if Musc Ravageur is considered a unisex fragrance, then Pi should be considered 'for Females' only perfume.

That's what it smelled like to me when I sampled it. I ended up with a mini bottle and now have a full bottle. I tried it on my husband but I like the scent better on me

I really, really love Pi! It's a sweet cinammon/vanilla scent that isn't overly sweet, and it's incredibly cozy. When I convinced my husband to try it, he loved it! He's considering purchasing a bottle when the cash starts coming in
