Best and Worst Designer (not niche) Releases of 2007?

Well, as 2007 is drawing to a close, I'm wondering what we all thought were the best and worst designer releases of the year.

Overall, it wasn't a bad year... there were a lot of decent releases at the Macy's counters. Armani Attitude was good, Jean Paul Gaultier's Fleur du Male showed some innovation, Diesel Fuel for Life was very unique for a "young" scent, and Gucci Pour Homme II was nice. IMO, Azzaro's Chrome Legend was a real sleeper that isn't getting the attention it deserves. And (don't bash me for this) even Usher's scent wasn't all that bad.

Anyway, here's my thoughts on what excelled and what didn't:

Best: Narciso Rodriguez for Him. Can you tell that I'm addicted to this scent? It's subtle yet powerful, classy yet casual. Yes, it's that good.
Runner-up: Diesel Fuel for Life

Worst: D&G Light Blue Pour Homme. What was Procter & Gamble thinking? It's not in the spirit of the women's at all... it's more in the spirit of Acqua di Gio knockoffs. I'm hoping that D&G The One For Men is a better scent than this...
Runner-up: CK IN2U Him

Your thoughts, please...

Read the post again: We aren't talking niche releases... we're talking designer releases (fragrances you can get at Macy's, Sephora, and the like).

I haven't tried all, but i own and very much enjoy Hypnose Homme and Fleur Du Male.

Most disappointing were Light Blue PH , Tom Ford for men.

I am going to have a change of heart here. I hope I am allowed to do that. LOL!

Best: Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue

Worst: Tom Ford Men

One I smelled from a friend... F Ferragamo for men... was nice! I wore it for a day, though I know it takes more, but it smelled very nice during those 8 hours!

Yes, best: F by Ferragamo.
Worst: D&G Light Blue PH. I was shaking my head unbelieving.

best - Narciso Rodrigues for him, new flankers of Dior Homme (hey! it`s just the same good old juice!) and Vetiver de Lubin

worst - CK in2U for him, definitely!

Best - NRFH
Worst - Tom Ford for Men

I am glad that people say F Ferraamo is good. Did not try it myself yet, but I love the original Salvatore Ferrogamo and have high expectations for F.

Best this year: Narciso Rodriguez, runner up: Hypnose
Worst is easy: D&G Light Blue especially since it destroys reputation of this house. Runner up: CKIN2U and Man: no high expectations from this house anymore.

I didn't think Tom Ford was THAT horrible, it just struck me as sort of mediocre. They were REALLY pushing it at Nordstrom. It doesn't deserve to be trashed as badly as D&G Light Blue does.

I must admit I haven't smelled that many designer scents released this year, since most will be rather boring anyway, but I can come up with a few...

Best: Allure Homme Sport Cologne, He Wood, Prada Infusion d'Iris

Worst: Not a total disaster but Gucci Pour Homme II is far from what it could have been.

I sniffed a lot of different things this year and I'd have to say that my vote is for:
Best: Narciso Rodriguez
Worst: D&G Light Blue

Best: I'll have to agree with Allure Homme Sport Cologne. Very nice scent. Clean as a whistle.

Worst: Probably D&G Light Blue Homme. Not really bad, more of a big missed opportunity.
I guess that I didn't have the opportunity to try many of the new releases, which is probably just as well. However, of those that I tried

Best: Armani Attitude
Worst: D&G Light Blue PH

The best, without a doubt : J-P Gaultier`s Fleur du Male

The worst : Who cares.

haha, Fleur du Male gets my vote for worst!

Armani Attitude had me on the hook with the cherry tobacco for a bit, but I'm glad I didn't buy it.

The issue as I see it, is that so many releases were mediocre, and so there was a lot of missed potential. I didn't think CK In2U was that bad. FdM is down there for worst, probably knocking around with Polo Explorer.

YSL L'Homme was pretty good for what it was supposed to be. I thought Burburry London for men (late 2006), and NR pH also good. Fahrenheit 32 was what FdM should have been. Givenchy Very Irresistible for Men Fresh Attitude, was quite resistable.

All in all, a very "meh" year for men's fragrances.

1. Fleur de Male ( This has to be one of the worst ever ).

2. Attitude by Armani
3. Chanel Sport Cologne
4. Narciso for Men
5. Tom Ford for Men

Hi, I've been lurking a while, I am definetely a newbie to this community but wanna share my humble opinion.

Best: HeWoods

Worst: Tokyo by Kenzo

Lancôme's Hypnôse comes first to my mind as probably one of the best. I like it very much, but am not even sure I must have this one (French Lover may be in it's place instead). So, Fleur du Mâlegets the laurel. It has this extra quality of exuberance (for one hour at least) which I care for. This is simply not found elsewhere within this range created created during the past 10 - 15 years.
Worst? I don't know any bad fragrance at all. But I never even touch new colognes unless I read something about them that made me curious.
