What scent will you be wearing when the clock strikes 2008?

Thread Starter
I will be wearing my sample of Orris by Andy Tauer (sadly, discontinued) compliments of scentsibility - that I've been waiting for a special occasion to sample.

What about you?
I haven't decided yet... probably whatever I'm feeling in the mood for that day.
Probably Black Aoud. Lasta generously sent me a sample with my last purchase, and I've got to make it last until I can afford a bottle of my own. What better way to ring in the new year than with Black Aoud? I had thought about Kingdom, but that always makes me feel so slutty.

Most likely vintage Cabochard.

Good question and I, too, have a sample of Orris that I've been waiting to use. Perhaps this, or Geo F. Trumper's Sandalwood Cologne, or ?

Ungaro III

Costes! Lovely spicy/incensy scent! Reminds me a little of Lubin's Idole... but still very distinct!
I can't decide between Musc Ravageur, Lolita Lempicka au masculin, or M7...it'll depend on what I'm in the mood for that day.
Make it Musc Ravageur, Ann -- that way you're assured of getting laid.
Aimez Moi - seems right for the new year

I might have to go with that, then. But...I always get VERY positive reactions when I wear M7, too...
I think it'll be Tom Ford Extreme... or perhaps, if I feel really daring, Nasomatto Duro. We'll just have to wait and see!
Domenico Caraceni - a late Christmas present that arrived today from Luckyscent!
Creed GIT for some luck of the Irish!
Chergui. It is what I want to smell like all year!
M7, without a doubt
depending on my mood whatever i feel like

but mostly SMW by Creed for school. Girls love it
post #20 of 75
Since I usually stay at home on NYE and watch a DVD with my significant other and our dog, it will be a comfort scent. Perhaps Mechant Loup will get the honor this year.
Either Iris Gris or Givenchy Gentleman.
tom for for men (ducks for approaching basenoters)
well, it's going to be about 45 degrees here new years day (around 113 farenheit, i think), so maybe something a little fresh...

screw that. i'm wearing velvet aoud. oh yeah.
Probably Santal Noble.
Oh, I have some choice of New Year celebration
Ambre Narguile Hermessence
Mitsouko Guerlain vintage
Vetiver pour Elle Guerlain
Probably Ambre Sultan, but maybe Musc Ravageur. Whatever the mood strikes me.
Louve
Depending upon the weather, either Creed Imperial or Erolfa.
I'm thinking Villoresi Sandalo, but might end up with something completely different.
Imperial Jade Agatha Brown
No question at all now -- it'll be Black Aoud.
Ambre Fettiche by Annick Goutal

It was a tough battle between Domenico Caraceni, Guerlains Spriteuse D.Vanille , Black Aoud ,Carthusia numero uno and this one, but there's no doubt this will be my choice.

I will reek of Amber and incense at the end of this year!
Probably Gucci Envy
We stay home New years Eve since our little was born but MIDNIGHT TRYST by Neil Morris is the planned SOTE....I just hope I stay awake to see the ball drop
post #35 of 75
I might have to wear my Shalimar parfum.

I second that choice, or probably nothing as I'll stink pepper garlic, onions, oil and roast chicken with hints f seafood for starting after been cooking for hours, but then, later, when had a shower and ready to go out I'd probably wear Vierges et toreros or Black Orchid.
Montale - Black Aoud for some long-lasting goodness
post #38 of 75
Nuit Noire by Mona di Orio.
I'll probably reapply the Tom Ford for Men I am wearing at work.

I'm taking my wife and my oldest child out to a movie, the National Treasure flick.
I was planning to wear the mysterious Djedi, but I am unsure whether I am in the right mood to pull it off. Riannon is right, it smells different according to one's inner feelings.
Thus, I am going to please DH's nose by wearing Clive Christian X .
Happy New Year's Eve!
Serge Lutens - Musk Koublai Khan

OR

Layered with Frederic Malle's - Musc Ravageur or Nariso for him.

It's gonna be dynamite, hopefully lot of people near me gonna pass out.
either MR or BA.. I wore MR last year but for the situation I was in I don't think I wore enough, makes this choice even harder.
Black Aoud. Almost Rose 31 though.....tough choice.
I've settled on Royal English Leather. Ahhhh, it's still the best...
My sotd was Eau Sauvage, after work when I shower, and get ready to go out for the evening I think I'm going to wear this again. Yep that's what I'm going to do!
I settled on Parfumerie Generale 03: Cuir Venenum.
What will I be wearing when the clock strikes midnight? Hopefully not much at all.. <koff>

really though.. L'Homme Sage, all the way to the bank..

a.
Jeez...I can't decide. Don't think it'll matter...I can smell everyone else's Black Oud from here!

I'm thinking Bois D'Iris....hmmmm....
Zino which I haven't worn in a while.
Musc ravageur for me tonight. From a decant that rarely gets used, and then only on very special occasions. This is one.

I don't go out on Amateur Night anymore so I get to enjoy this one all by myself, at home, with my 5 kitties on lap or nearby. The fireworks disturbs them and they hang close on New Year's Eve and the 4th of July..

I will be pulling out of my 'cellar' and carefully poping the cork on a well aged and stored bottle of 1963 Taylor vintage Oporto at about 10:00 PM and, after proper decanting and airing, will have one (or two) glasses of that ambrosial liquid. That will call for toasting, among others, all you wonderful Basenoters.

And I do sincerely wish all of you a great 2008.

Ken

OK, so I decided to split the difference. It'll be TF Extreme in the day and Nasomatto Duro for the evening out.
I decided to wear Ambre Sultan out tonight.
Bvlgari Extreme

Turns out it's Givenchy Gentleman.
Hello and a happy new year to all my fragrance lovers out there. Tough call but since I'll be in close proximity to my special lady friend I wanted to go with something smooth, calm and senseous with a a captivating kick just like me. Creed's Original Vetiver
post #59 of 75
Well, I have been wearing Bulgari Black, don't ask me why.

And now I have a headache. :')
