Gift suggestion for Lapidus wearer

Would like suggestions for selecting a scent for the upcoming birthday of a dear male friend of the family. He's in his early sixties, collects perfume bottles, china, and figurines, and lives and works in NYC. He wears Lapidus pour Homme, which smells great on him.

It should be inexpensive - 20 - 50 dollar range (online), because I don't want to get him something he would never buy another bottle of if he likes it.

I know nothing about men's frags, and since DH doesn't wear them (except for his new Madini oils) he has no suggestions to offer.

If he likes Lapidus, I think Chanel - Pour Monsieur Concentrée would be perfect for him.
You should be able to find it at most major department stores. Macy's online sells it at $52.50 for the 2.5 oz spray. Some online e-tailers might have it even cheaper.
