my aunt and i have been talking about buying the new prada (infusion d'iris)
she hinted that she might get it for me
she did get me a prada...but the mens (1.7)...which i already have
so i told her and she said i could switch it for something i wanted.
i got the Acqua di Parma - Colonia (2.8)
but when i opened it...(not the bottle it self...) i was like..ARGH SPLASH BOTTLE?!

so. i'm off to South Coast Plaza to nordstroms...
and i read the city guide on here and it said that the nordstroms there had a special store-in-store that held exclusive niches...
$100....hmmm what to get

here are my options:
- L'eau d'Hiver - frédédric malle
- a spray bottle for the colonia ( maybe they have an attachment)
- my original plan of Infusion d'iris...

but im kinda looking for a "light" fall/winter scent..

vhat else...
--------------------------------------
another thing...it has to be by Jean-Claude Ellena
haha
i know colonia isnt...but the assoluta is...argh long story....

angeliques sous la pluie?

If you get the Prada Infusion d'Iris and would be willing to let a small bit of it go for a price, lemme know!

Good luck on whatever you decide.

I'd go for Colonia Assoluta.

ASLP and L'ea d'Hiver are both very nice too. If I were getting an angelica scent from Malle, I'd go for the longer lasting Bois d'Orage (French Lover) - it has a lot of incense and cedar to bulk up the peppery angelica. Alas, it is not by Ellena (why is this a criteria?) but it is quite similar to one of his creations, Terre d'Hermes.

Personally I'd find Prada Iris too "pretty" for a man, but that's just one opinion.

if i were to get an Acqua di Parma, i decided to go with the original
the SA gave me samples of each, tried them...of course i love both EQUALLY
(i'll get assoluta in the near future, don't worry)

as for the Malles, we'll see, french lover sounds intimidating, i want to try most of the out...along with penhaligons
my criteria of Ellena, just because...
his works are masterpieces

that's the thing the Infusion d'Iris is "pretty" for a man, which i like
because i am totallt sick of the over "manly"-ness of the men's counter
that is why im leaning towards the women's counter more (or the unisexes)
for example:
Eau des merveilles
elixir des merveilles
black orchid
kelly calèche

Get L'Eau d'Hiver by Frederic Malle: You have nothing in your wardrobe like it; you've already tried it and like it (I remember sending you a sample...); it's slightly 'wintery'..the English transalation of the title is Winter Water; and JC Ellena created it.

I remember someone describing LdEH as, 'a scent skin attains after a handful of snow melts in the warm palm, dripping as cold water through the fingers.'

What more can you ask for? Get it already!!

You will be able to buy L'Eau d'Hiver at Barney's in Los Angeles. If you call them, they will ship it to you, you don't even need to go into the store to buy it.
